Greatest Passenger Car Engine of last 25 Years
Chevy 5.0 and 5.7l-Both blocks have been used in chevys lineup for over 50 years. Very dependably, with plenty of power torque capabilities. Switching from carb to Injected in the early 80's added to power, torque, fuel effency and dependability. (Dont kill me for this one guys..) Ford 300cu.in. inline 6. This motor was used in most fo the light to medium duty ford trucks in the late 70's to the early 90's. Extremly dependable motor with tons of torque. Easily matched up to the fod 4 speed manual with granny low (dont remember the model) made for an excellent towing/hauling truck. EDIT: damn you Kent for beating meon this one. Not a motor but the car in general...The Honda Insight. First production hybrid. Opened the door for the future of all vehicle travel for the future.

Extremly low voltage at idle. Better yet, no voltage from alt at idle. Truck runs off the battery when at a red light.- OMG another which is louder! DD vs RE
That's what I hear. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with Alice at DD(one of the company owners) and I'm gonna give them a go. Now I don't have NEAR the rest of what I need, electricaly speaking. I've got a foundation I hope that will soon start to boom. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> we are going to have TONS of fun!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yessir, I just gotta get this DD thing goin' I've also talked with a guy that has MT 18's reconed with ATOMIC softparts. I can get the two for $600 plus shipping. Any thoughts on that setup?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I dont think we have room for 2 18s. Unless you really want to run in modified. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> CRX style? facing up port to the rear? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Id be willing to bet you would be past the window line. What is the depth of the 18s?- Need help from Electrical Gurus

Yeah, things I now know Oh well you live and learn. Well, I went to another shop. Let me tell you this guy was MUCH more knowedgeable then the other. He told me that the pully currently on there was very small as it is. He had his systems shut down when I got there but he will look in the AM for me a smaller pulley. He also suggested that I let him open her up...well...that voids warranty. He told me that he would warrant a 1 year warranty on Nates alt if he did any work to it...He said that he can change the charging curve to allow for full voltage at idle. This guy had about 30 plaques or so on his wall with his name on it from sposoring audio competitors. I have a feeling this is the route I will be taking.- AntiVirus
You know that they have virtual PC right? you can run many programs on a mac now. Aaron, my upgrade to a G5 is on hold. I am also VERY happy with my G4. To anyone thinking of buying a Mac...hold off for a while. Next year Apple will be using intel chips, only about 15-20% of the software will be compatable. It would be best to hold off. Aaron can you imagine, a dual 3.33 Ghz power mac??? Or whatever is the largest processors they have out by then- Welcome to the IHoP
The cabs and speakers look good Kent. I bet your son is happy. BTW...you really, REALLY need to teach him how to dust- OMG another which is louder! DD vs RE

HELP!!! http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=4035- Need help from Electrical Gurus
So I get to the alt shop and talk to the guy. We test my alt with a clamp meter and a volt meter. Here is the results. No accesories 12.7@600rpm 13.9@700rpm 14.5@900+rpm Acc on (no stereo, just lights and A/C) 11.8@600rpm 13.6@700rpm 14.5@900+rpm Now here is the part that gets me. The alt shop told me that I do not need a smaller pully. Shop: "You need another battery and an isolator." Me: Why??? Shop: You have plenty of amps but low voltage. Me: OK, another battery run by itself is going to help? Shop: Sure it will... Me: please explain this to me? Shop: the second battery will no longer be tied to any of the other accories in your truck. Me: thats fine and all, but when the other amps are installed the voltage will again drop even lower having to charge the same accories, the second battery, and the new amp. Thus wouldnt the voltage drop even lower? Shop: no that is where the second battery helps out. Me: Wouldnt a smaller pully do the exact same thing and cost me a hell of a lot less time, money, and effort? Shop: no... It goes round and round like that. Over and over again. What should I do? Pully (cost ~$100 total) Or Isolator, battery, and battery tray (Isolator for ~200amps $250, battery $150, tray $50, labor $ oh chit...) HELP!!!- Welcome to the IHoP

So I went out lastnight and played in a hold'em turnament. Took home $40 5th place prize. Best part of the night...The last table there was a gentleman that seemed to be a big VIP at the club. The whole night he was calling me "young buck". My guess was that he was trying to rattle me. Several peole during the night were braging on his playing. Oh yeah, he was weak, his tell was so obvous. He would look down at his drink and stir if he was raising and he would restack his chips if he was bluffing. Needless to say he didnt get very far Eventually I wore him down and made a move, he went out first. Then the nice older lady siting directly across from me put me out on a flush draw. We both caught the flush my J didnt beat her K Oh well, I made a few bucks out of the deal.- First ever Mag came today

I have one from work ... but that's for work and work only. I've got two desktops at home, but I want something I can pack around when I GTFO of this job. All I'd need is Powerpoint, Word, Excel, WinZip, and Paint. Only things I'd add on would be Nero, Firefox or variant, maybe iTunes, BBP6, WinRAR, Trillian, and IRC. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess the real questions is, how long do you plan on keeping it until you will want an upgrade?, that is everyones problem. With the rate that technology is moving my 2g laptop will be completly out of date in another year or less Since you are not really running many resorce hoggin programs you would be fine with a 2g, but Id save a little more and spring for the 3.33g - Need help from Electrical Gurus
