  1. Outlets caught on fire? Holy chit you're lucky you still have a house! Check your house wiring so something doesn't happen inside a wall later and takes the house down when you're not home. If your out\lets got that hot then your Romex in the walls got even hotter. Check it soon. In my work in construction/demolition, I've never seen anything good come from fried wiring.

I just got my BTL 18 today, it is now installed and even off that old opti 50c, it's louder than hell. It is louder than I thought it would be. The back wall of my cab below the window flexes 1/4 inch, and the slider window is going to break (possibly today). This is one outstanding product. Even if my window does break, I will be satisfied to the top. Thanks Scott and Shawn for assisting me and I definitely look forward to doing business again and promoting the product! A Video will be put up soon.
  3. If you want to go with Lanzar I would search for the old school product (pre 1997) made before they were bought by Pyramid. It's infinitely better than their new stuff, or better yet go with the Sundowns.
  4. Not immediately, but it can eventually cause the terminal connections to loosen up, controls to adjust themselves and farther down the road, the PCB can crack from the ever so slight flexing. It depends on how much vibration you have and it doesn't take much. If possible, mount the amp on a double-thick board attached to the edges of the top of the box, that should reduce the vibration. Mount 2"wide scraps of MDF at the edges and place board across them like a bridge so it isolates the amp.
  5. MA AMPS are putting more than watts into your subs? Look at these reviews off of the links you posted. This should not be happening. An amp that cooks subs is a very bad thing. If I made amps I wouldn't want this written about my product. From a customer standpoint, I wouldn't want to spend money on something that is going to cost even more due to damage it causes to other equipment. Here's what you should do: Get those Sundown amps. Jacob will answer any questions you may have AND they will not destroy your subs. If you should ever have a problem, they will make sure you're taken good care of. Go look thru this forum, everyone loves these amps, they are well worth the money. Here we go... Customer Reviews - MA Audio HK4000D l555red From georgia this is a must buy if you want to burn out some speakers i hook this amp to my 3jl audio w3 15s and it bust all 3subs at the same time now i got to find some subs that can tame this beast -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- g35c From brooklyn i have this hooked up to 2 x 10 immortal in a vented box in a g35 coupe , no trunk space, and when i turn it up 85% after 5 min of blasting you see smoke coming out of the box, i need better subs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- steven From Elizabethtown I have one of these amps on a Kicker Solo-x 12, and this amp pushes this sub with everything and more. This amp is so powerful that I have to turn my amp almost all the way down, so it want blow the sub, and the sub is 5000 watts. If you are looking for something that has enough power to blow your windows out your car then buy this amp. I promise it will not let you down. Sounds like a square wave generator to me...

They are super busy, it looks like a 7day waiting period. They are building btl's and shipping them as fast as they make them. Scott will not leave you hanging, It will take a bit but be worth the wait.
  7. Welcome aboard. I'm still the king, last time I checked.
  8. Thats straight up horsechit. I'm not sure how the law works in your area but apparently it's based on something else other than actual law. In most places they can't pull you over for something you did the day before(unless its criminal). Where I'm at if the cops here see you but don't get you, then see you again later w/o the system on, they can't ticket you for it. I should know, I went thru this from a rookie cop and the judge threw it out because of this. But yes, tickets suck, that's why I only bang on the interstate and my bass amps are switched on the remotes.
  9. Ecromeans, Accd to SSA Sideport Box Calculator: Built well within your available space you can go with Inside Dimensions of 50w X 12d X 24h =14400. 14400/1728=8.33ft3. Square port 22.5 x 3". Length#1 is 8.00", length #2 is 8.25"("L" shaped port).
  10. I'm sure they will pound, but the stratus, and most Chrysler products hate being subjected to modification. Back in 1997 we had a demo Stratus with 2 Image Dynamics IDW 15s on 2 Zapco studio 500s in it and this car fell apart in about 4 months. When you have to take the wheel off of to get to the battery, that tells you trouble is on the way. Anyway, I would use that Stratus as your grocery-getter, and put the system in something else. It would save you the trouble of massive repairs and save a ton of money. I went from 2 bl 18's down to 1 btl 18 in my Nissan for this reason. I found a used S-10 Blazer here for 800.00 and that will get the big system. They are like little battleships, they are solid.
  11. 2 21's + Dodge Stratus= Problems. If you start cutting metal the car is weakened even more that already is, and with the bass energy those 21's generate, that car will fall apart, the dash electronics will be the first to go, all sorts of chit will happen. You might want to get a case of silicone to hold your dash and door panels together. You might do what I did: Find an older S-10 Blazer and put them in that as your boomer ride only. It may be actually cheaper in the long run than repairing the Stratus. Just a thought from someone who has been down that road and seen many others do the same.
  12. I've built some crazy chit before but damn...
  13. Here is the dirt on the Batcap Extreme, ripped from Thunder Audio Video Online... Batcap Extreme - 12-16Volt BatCap Extreme 12 8400A X 4 @ 16V Battery / Extreme Power Supply Extreme - 12 BatCap Extreme 12 8400A X 4 @ 16V Battery / Extreme Power Supply MSRP $2399.99 Detailed Description
  14. Fi has something like 4-5 people who have to read hundreds or even thousands of emails...AND build subs too. It's easy to get impatient because your'e excited about getting your product(I know I am) but they will respond in order and it's worth the wait. Give it a few days or so.
  15. Sundown is the way to go. They are a major player in this forum, and mr Fuller and the forum members will give you way, way more support than you'll ever get from a major brand company. Take advantage of the Sundown 1500 sale and I think you'll like the results. Read up on the sundown product, people love it.
  16. Actually, he may be better off getting a batcap 8400 and using the charger that comes with it. 80 lbs vs several hundred lbs and it has more power. Much cheaper and less problematic. I got the chance to see one of these in action pushing 2 Zapco 9.0XD's with 8 cv 15" and it performed very well. These things turn up on ebay and can be had for around $5-$600.00.
  17. Find yourself a Batcap 8400 and run it independent of your car electrical system. You have to get the charger too, and plug it in to the wall once a week but it will run the biggest systems forever (A guy I knew ran 2 Zapco 9.0XD's driving 8 cerwin vega 15"s in a demo mode for a week w/o recharging it) and it weighs 80 lbs, and it will last 2-3 years or so. 8 thousand amps from this thing will run anything with no problems whatsoever. No need for heavy multibattery setups. $600 on ebay is about average.
  18. yes i think so... but if it fails... i think it may give your car 16 volts i donno.. i looked into it a little but i didnt find alot of info on it.... i think its a lil safe gaured for comp reasons.... thats all i could think up.... Anyway you look at it, it's going to cost a ton of money. If your car gets that 16 volts, you just lost your computer, guages and everything else to the tune of several thousand dollars at least. Use 2 alts, isolators, regulators-good ones.
  19. I know it will be worth the wait. Looking forward to it's arrival.
  20. I understand there is a backlog of BTL orders. What timeframe am I looking at to see my sub so I can have the rest of the system ready for it? Can't wait to be up and running again, excitement building...
  21. The dist for UK is called "Direct ICE" Contact: David Wilkins + 44 1908 30927
  22. Are they dirty or do they not perform as stated/suck?
  23. Anyone worked with AudioQue before? They have impressive stats but what do you get for the seemingly impossibly cheap price? I want to unload my old school Lanzar Opti 50C for something better for my BTL 18 but I don't want to spend a ton either. I know power is coming down in price but I don't want a piece of chit that falls on it's face when I need to feed my sub what it needs.
  24. Gearstix, I will be doing the back part of my roof in the Frontier this weekend when the new box goes in. I am still using my old headliner (unless I somehow destroy it pulling it out) but I will get pics to show how it all goes together for you. You will have the tightest rattle-free roof after you build yours. Pics up by Monday.
  25. My old s-10 blazer had a sliding ragtop and with bass it broke quickly. First it jumped its tracks and then it just fell apart. Depends on what you have in there I guess. 2 12s won't hurt much but 4 18s weren't good for mine.
