  1. alright thanks for the guidance.. it is a low budget setup, so 2 12"s is out of the question already.
  2. pretty much same setup as me then. I figured he should go with the same, thanks.
  3. Well i've got my friend hooked on Fi. He wants to build a setup with my help. He is looking at a 12" or 15" Fi BL Powering it with a Directed 1100d, old model. He listens to mainly rap, and it will be placed in a Grand Am. What options should he look into with this amp power. I told him to just get it fully loaded if he ever plans to upgrade someday. Just need some opinion. His main concern is what size to go with, what is your opinion, I personally went with the 15, and love it.
  4. be nice if someone would help ya out. tell me when you get everything around and ordered.
  5. bump for a friend from the Jbody Forum.

ohh, i'd like this file too. I'm in the wood tech class at my school and need something to build to burn time... i'm a senior btw.
  7. alright I'll get him true 8 gauge, and look into that loc. what about a source for the remote, or does that adjustable remote control that..... I was thinking of finding a power source that goes on when the truck turns on, but if there is an easier way, it would be nice.
  8. well it is up to him, and as of now he doesn't want to spend the money on the deck and the other things for it.
  9. money is tight. Just wants some bass to have, doesn't really want to get heavily into it and spend the money.
  10. 500w RMS, but i figured that anyways, just wanted to keep it safe. Now for the LOC!
  11. I'm currently helping a friend purchase the rest of his setup for his Durango. He bought my 12" Cerwin-Vega! Vmax D2 Driver. It is in a 2.5cu ft. box (ported). Memphis Ampl That is the amp he is going to buy. 500RMS at 1 ohm. Class D Question is: Run 4 gauge or 2 gauge? And he has a stock deck, so I will need a LOC, where is a good place to purchase them, and i would need a write up on how to wire one in, along with a source for the remote. Final: Woofersetc is a good site to order from right? I've known quite a few people that have ordered from there without problems
  12. welcome what part of MI you from?
  13. /thread got it all done.
  14. ok need urgent help in the process of building a hatchback box. sub up port back. i need to know how long the port should be. we figure it out to 50-60sq in of port, but all we need is the port length now. It is a 4.0cu ft. box.
  15. it isn't recommended to seal a BL. Building a ported box really isn't hard. Just ask for someone to build you a design and a cut sheet. The 15" BL likes 4.0cuft.
  16. yes thats where I plan on getting the amp if I do. Refurbished also.
  17. Just wondering some of your thoughts on the Powerbass series of amplifiers. Good quality? Underrated, Overrated? I am thinking of this being it is cheaper.... or Sundown 1500d. It is about cost, but reliability It will be put on a Fi BL 15" in a 4.0cuft box tuned to 32hz. Powerbass 1500d.
  18. so should i take that route, sub up port firing driver side trunk? Is it clean AND loud?
  19. there are so many options... should i go with sub back port back then? I can see about getting it to work, i'm not sure if it would.... if not, what is another good option...
  20. well it is a 2000 chevy cavalier sedan. Obviously going into the trunk. I did have a 6.0 cu. ft. box in there at one time, and it just cleared the trunk, but did make it. The opening from the rear deck to backseat is ~16.5" I will position the box according to the setup, but going to stay in trunk. Hatchback or no? or firing rear with port firing rear also?
  21. well then again, i would like your idea. he wants to make a hatchback style box... what would the best bet be for loudness but not complete crap. Sub direction and port direction. If you would make a design that would be great even
  22. was wondering when the price is going back up i've been waiting to order, but i am thinking of ordering very soon .
  23. he is going to design it, but i wanted to give him idea of what i want. and figure what trunk space I am using up also. but that was basicly what I was looking for. thanks!
  24. I am getting an enclosure built this coming friday. I was wondering what the optimal enclosure size would be. I want it tuned to 32hz after displacement. Should it be double baffled on the face? I plan on going with a hatchback style box (sub up port back toward trunk). I was offered the option of "milkshaking" the box (resin mixture inside to seal better), it is 50 dollars more for that, so I figure I don't really need it. The Sub: Fi Bl 15" Fully Loaded. Amp: saz 1500d. my trunk measures: 15hx33dx36w I measured height from the trunk bars, so if it can fit between it would be roughly 3-4 inches higher.
  25. well i am settled for the 15" BL. Just unsure on the enclosure setup/size. i want 32-33hz. I am going to run my current amp for a few months then purchase the 1500d.....so just gotta get stuff around and ready this winter.
