  1. thanks i got my tracking info
  2. did that ship friday? could i get tracking info when it ships ? i have to arrange for someone to be around for it . thanks fishcrf450r@
  3. can't wait . i'm running out of room for these things. i'm not even sure this one will fit. thanks for a great deal
  4. found you in my paypal from another amp purchace so money sent already
  5. can't fight temptation too good of a price please send me another 1500d how do you want your money ?
  6. as far as i have figured out, the spl version is only for controled tones, no music of any kind . and comps are mostly based on music . so even though this is for comps only i would need daily gap. please correct me if i'm wrong because if the spl gap would work then of coarse i would rather it. but this is for fun with my kids so i'm not looking to rub coils for .1 db gain. and for my daily setup i have a fi q15 so the btl doesn't have to sound good it's ok if it does sound good.
  7. it would make more since to get it clamped in your car with your enclosure and electrical.
  8. so has anyone beat up there new one slug yet and want to sell looking for universal, daily gap, fully loaded , 15" wouldn't mind learning to recone .
  9. put a clamp on each run you will see current on all runs it will be about the same each if you have a higher resistance on one of your runs it will have less current than the rest but still carry current not one run untill capacity then the next then the next ect........
  10. thanks some good advice, i don't mind reconing as long as it was fit into the price at purchace.
  11. well it seems that the old 2 slugs don't fit what i need them to do. it does seem like comps. are based on music. so i would need either a 3 slug or new 1 slug daily. unless some one shows me an advantage to the 3 slug i will be getting the new 1 slug. this isn't for my daily use so i don't care what they sound like . and thanks all for your help i was looking at a 2 slug and it would have been a wast of time it seems.
  12. Waiting on jacob! lol The end of the month, and no amps, but I 'll wait because it will be worth it! But he did send me my 125.2 already! and trust me as soon as I get them you will see picture's! Because I'm going to gizz on them! lmao! plz take pre-jizz photos.... and steveman, this price is cheap, and I'm surprised they aren't gone already, don't haggle. Sorry I wasn't trying to haggle, I just threw an offer out there for what I had available is all, doesn't matter anyways I found another one somewhere else for 300. Sorry If I pissed you off, it wasn't my goal. hey it was worth a shot , heck if he got one for 300 i would have asked for one as well . for that price i would have all the sudden needed one... and yes 350 is already a steal .
  13. OP- 2 slug models were really meant for burping, they are shorter and are not meant for as much excursion for playing music. most competitions now, bassrace and bass-boxing are playing music thanks this is the stuff i need to know before i waste too much money.
  14. i am already a fi fan . in love with my fi q15 . i can't beleive that it isn't comp ready , this thing shakes the heck out of my explorer. i understand that either btl will be louder than my Q , but it is hard to grasp how much louder . not looking for db numbers that is what we will be chasing at the comps . but don't want to get a year into trying to gain db's and then wish that i got a new btl . and on the same idea the difference in price from 2 slug vs 1 slug buys recones + a years worth of mdf for box testing . so far it seems like folks with experience are recomending the new 1 slug . i guess if i'm going to be swapping heavy boxes on weekends i should make it worth it . and thanks everyone for opinions . i took the advice of folks on here to steer me to the q last year , and got just what i was looking for .
  15. I would go new, unless its not in your budget. Just my.02 budget is not the issue, sub is actualy the cheap part of the setup. but 2 slug btls are getting easy to find in the $200 range still working.<cheap enough to get my attention> so i started thinking that this thing is realy for beating the snot out of on weekends. and started weighing used with a couple recones or new without recones. i get that the new design is stonger and better <not to mention sexier> but i have never heard either and didn't know how much better or if it was worth it. if the new one realy is enough better i have no problem getting that. this type of equipment is out of my league so i have to ask those of you with experience and wisdom for your help . thanks for all your help and opinions. it realy helps.
  16. i had first figured on getting a new one. but have seen some great deals on 2slug btl's. that got me wondering .
  17. hi i'm an old guy, got a fi q15 on an saz 1500d in my suv. my son wants to go to sound comps, so i figured on getting another saz1500d to stap and getting a btl for the weekends. don't need to win but want to at least be competitive enough to keep his interest and make it worth the effort so how much difference will the average user find between the old 2 slug btl and the new 1 slug ? and is the difference enough that i realy should be looking for a one slug. i get that they booth are going to be crazy but on the meter does it matter that much ? i've heard pepole say it wasn't worth upgrading but i don't own either yet . thanks
  18. i would bet turn up ssf. or broken box.
  19. solder that tinsil lead back to the terminal and keep banging on it untill it dies then recone .
  20. Crap really? I guess 3 way is going to go out the window. Back to the drawing boards........what comps would you guys suggest for a pop-rock active 2 way? I bought a 12'' dc lvl 4, Idk what I'm going to tune it to though. Do you think these SEAS 8'' midbass drivers are still a good choise? http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1600 I'm planning on a 2 way active w/ the SAX100.4 They're 8 ohm drivers, 80w rms. Anyone think the SAX100.4 can get close to 80wrms@8 ohms? Do you think an SAX125.2 for the midbass and an SAX50.4 bridged for the tweeters would be better? or maybe the sax50 bridged for the midbass and the sax125 or an sax100 for the tweets? because I can get an sax50 for $150 and an sax125 for $135 how about 1 ---125.2 for midbass and 1 ---50.4 for mids and tweets three way isn't that hard. i just think as your system gets better you get more and more picky. and its not like you couldn't go back to a 2-way at any time. but i think that if you went 3-way that you would never go back to a 2-way. also tweeters don't need much power. if your going to lay down some power do it for your mid bass . also for those prices thats what i would reccomend, thats less than i paid for each 100.4d. and a smaller foot print. i like that my 2 100.4s and my 1 saz 1500d all look the same and are about the same size.<but i have the room for them>
  21. i think my 3way sounded good before i tuned it , i only guessed at x-over freqs to get started. it still rocked over my 2way .it only got better as i tuned it. yes t/a helps alot.but i think i would still do it again without haveing it. i'm 6 months into playing with it and am almost there, but it has sounded awsome the whole time. i use my 2 x 100.4's as 2x 320 ---mid bass 4x 100 --mids and tweets i don't run any top shelf gear for speakers, i mix and match drivers and still get good results. i can work around the strengths or weakness of my drivers which is fun for me. and having head room with my amp power makes it easy to keep the sound clean. and yes a pair of 100.4's takes up some room. i raised up a false floor 2.5-3" in the back of my explorer and they run fine under there with a saz-1500
  22. Do you think a 3 way active is "not worth it" ? A 2 way active will be a lot cheaper (about -400 for mid range and amp compared to a 3 way active) two 100.4's make a great 3way front setup. very flexible, and enough power to run any 3way combo of speakers you want. and in my opinion so worth it.
  23. i agree i have one q 15 .with no features and this thing rocks my truck i too, wonder how much louder a btl is and if my truck could take it. my original plan was to get a second q15 but after hearing just the one sub i had no need for the second one. this thing is loud for a sq sub in my opinion.
  24. the 50.4 puts out more bridged than the 125.2 .at 4ohms . i think the 50.4 would be like 2 x 160 at 4 ohms. and like said would give you more flexability if you change your system.
  25. do you need to hook both rca's up when running bridged ? or could you just hook up ch3 ?
