I have been using the denon avr-687 in my budget systems because it's about $150 and can process dolby digital and dts on coax or optical inputs. they won't process the lossless hd audio formats but nothing for under $300 will right now.

what did you have done to it besides the normal recone? machined pole plug, i believe quad spider pack, double woven tinsel and i'm not sure which coil either but it's a dual 2. i just asked nick to have them add as much power handling as they could at my expense. it was something like $120 + 1 way shipping, i'm really glad i did instead of just getting the $80 recone.
