ixl 15.2.2 in accord cpe?
so i just got my sundown saz1500d. in the coming weeks im going to rewire the car and grab a new sub(s). the ixl 15 looks like the best sub for the price out there, only problem is: i have about 14" of height to work with for my enclosure. however i have 36"w and 18-20"d. how would the ixl perform top firing side port in a 95 accord cpe trunk?

saz1500d and which woofers?
ok so i slapped the saz1500 in today, tried it @ 4ohm load on my single sealed w3v3 10" (meh) and then threw the two ZEUZ 12" svc 4ohm in my jl power wedge that had the w0's in it. the amp really kills the chit out of the zeuz, i dont know much bout em cuz theyre like 14 years old and totally corroding, i assume theyll die soon. they hit real hard though, and now im torn between doing a proper dual 2ohm 15" in a ported enclosure, or the 3 tens. the determining factor for the 15 is that it would have to be top firing side ported, i just dont know how it will sound in that trunk. as far as the saz1500 goes, ive got it at half gain with no boost and it kills the zeuz's (they have no wrms rating they only say 825w max). does anyone have any experience with a top firing enclosure in a smaller trunk? man this is tough, id like to just do both and then decide but.... $$$$$.......

saz1500d and which woofers?

saz1500d and which woofers?
http://artofnoiseaudio.com/speakers_apsubE12_4.php ok, so i measured my trunk, i have 36w 16h (MAX id prefer 14") 18d to use as my enclosure space. it would fit three 10's or two 12's perfectly but i havent seen many enclosures for 15's at less than 16h. i'd really prefer to do 12-14" of enclosure height to let air flow over the box and seats into the car. i was looking at those 10" sound splinter rl-i10 svc 4ohm woofers in the ssa shop. how do you guys think 3 of those on the sundown saz-1500d would sound? oh and a dumby quiestion too: would two splinters and one jl w3 be ok if i had each seperate, i mean the voice coil impedance is the same and they'd all be sealed individually...... am i an idiot or can i just by two splinters till i can afford the 3rd? (i'd like to get a box with three 10" woofer holes and only 2 woofers initially)

saz1500d and which woofers?
im not too worried bout space, however my 12's almost took up the whole trunk, it was a jl box, 32w 14.5h and 17d. thats about the same amount of space i want to use. i want LSQ for my bass. i was thinkin i might stick with sealed if i can get enough volume from my subs.

saz1500d and which woofers?
i got confirmation from chris at db-r that my 1500d will be here this week. im going to run 1/0, and drop a yellowtop in my car sometime this month. i have several woofers: 2 old zeuz 12" 825w, 2 jl 12w0-8's (kinda useless with the saz) and one new jl10w3v3-4. i was considering throwing two more 10w3v3-4's in to run around a 1 ohm load on the three, however im aware they arent the greatest speakers. my question is this: for LSQ, in a 1995 honda accord ex cpe, running the saz1500d am i going to be pissed if i buy 2 more 10" jl's, could i fit a single 15 or 12 and get the same or more output while maintaining the sq? im trying to budget my woofers and enclosure for under $600, i saw some audiopulse epic 12's that looked nice for 180 a piece, ive also found RE SE12's for 140 and sx12's for 190. in short im looking for 1-3 woofers that will work well with the saz1500, and are not all out spl but can still play nice n loud.

yeah, i could even see the inconsistency of my power in my TV picture, the piece of equipment that had the most impact on the quality of my sound and picture was my line conditioner.
