  1. Well this will be a few photos... The install will be done in the next week or so... I just built the box and got it carpeted. I'll have to build the amp/battery rack in the next week or so... So here's some starter pics. 6cubes after displacements, tuned 33hz.... should be decent daily... He's one of those fella's that Like's to show off so hopefully this will do the trick. **the box is small because he still needs room for his gun-rack.. it'll sit behind the woofer box and amp
  2. tuning depends on what you're going for. SPL only tuning needs to be high... your car will peak between 58-62hz. If you're building for a good street beater 35 hz is a good freq to tune to. Inverted subs: if competing it can put you in a diffrent class because of their heigth. Inverting results in a slight loss of output on the mic. If side firing port to the passenger side works well.. if SPL isn't a big deal and you just want loud daily you can run a couple of 6" rounds-one to each side angle them towards the corners. Ports back works well and will be close to the same output as side firing. Side firing is a little louder on the mic. If rear firing you need to keep the box roughly 4" from the rear of the car (pending on how tall you make the box)
  3. I was anti-massive until I used them. now the massive is running my spl car. roughly 15% more than rated power and affordable. **the massive's look like a little cleaner build than the audiopipe
  4. wow that's ugly I'm anti-inverted as well. more port area would be a good start.. Port to the passenger side (one big slot) get the woofers further back (as far back towards the hatch as possible.) I've competed with a civic hb since '03 so I pretty well know the car..
  5. LIsten to Jacob's post you should do pretty much exactly what he said for your truck... all my suv's have peaked in that freq range.
  6. what ORG? mic? mic placement? pics of the setup? 150's in a blazer is pretty easy if that's what you're going for.. daily 50's aren't too hard to come by either (not with the gear you have).. **I'm not certain on the newer style blazers... or if 01 was different... my 4 door 98 did 148.8 term/headrest/sealed on 2500watts and one concept cpt 15 in 2.5cubes tuned 35hz... pretty much a daily setup..
  7. looks like over excursion or it's been hitting the back of the seat... if it had a cut in it to start you should have called right away...
  8. Not starting a beef.... but I'd agree size has nothing to do with SQ..... each woofer has it's pros and cons.. proper install and design are the biggest factors..
  9. Loved my 4 L5 8's in 2.5cubes sealed.. sounded great-very snappy.. better than expected lows.. really like 30hz range.. took a ton of power... I ran 3k to the 4. I ported the box before I got rid of them and they posted 148.8db sealed on the dash (TL) 92 civic hb.. I realize my box for 4 was about the size you're wanting for 8... just thought I'd post up my thoughts anyway.. **I've had decent luck with a couple cheap woofers.. MA audio XE 8's and cerwin vega HED 8's.... I've got some ma's L5's posted in my f/s thread
  10. is that the ported comp box.... with the port blocked???
  11. yeah for the "used" one.. as long as it's the lower 48 states...
  12. I haven't tested any american bass amps. I have the massive that I used for testing & SBN up for sale. I have a new one as well. Great amp, I don't really want to sell any of my "toys" but with the new unemployment I need the extra cash more than my toys. You can find most of my stuff in my huge F/S thread.
  13. pretty bummmed... I was there and never heard it...
  14. No prob The visonik never did go over that wattage... even at 4 ohm... I'm looking into modding the amp to bypass the protection and see if it works better.. pretty simple mod from what I understand..
  15. for daily subs up port back-or port to the side... I wouldn't do sub forward port back for anything other than spl... in my civic hb it's actually a full db or two lower than subs up port side...
  16. I pulled 150's with a single 10 in my 92 HB It's all install/design...... my dual 10's did high 40's low 50's (151.0 sealed on the dash was the high for the pair)with a 35hz tuning... great street beater...
  17. install is the biggest factor.... LOUD can be several things.. My two clif cd1200c's on roughly 2k are VERY LOUD but it's all design and install. they're 150+ all sealed on the dash ****you'll need the daily option.... read throught the fi suff on here.
  18. just got back.... wow that drive sucks... nice to meet the fella's that I did. Hopefully some people got to hear the civic get demo'ed (the score on my windshield didn't accurately represent the performance of the car-d@mn fuse) I did notice that I had my sub set on -6 when I demoed instead of +6... much louder @ +6 I thought it didn't sound loud at the time but I just though I had gotten use to all the noise
  19. I'll be there friday... bout noon
  20. I forgot to get a vid of what it does all sealed up... It's like being in a wind tunnel.... can we say HairTrick!!! I need to add that the amp is only producing 1040ish (tested output) watts since it's a 6ohm load... you should see it wired down lower (it's wired 2ohm nominal now... seeing 6ohm with rise)!
  21. fixed them... turn your volume down.... the camera's sound is terrible
  22. SBN

ahh swapped out amps... Looks Like I'll be there with the SAZ3000D and two Clif Designs CD1200C's.... I'm only getting about 1000watts on my fusing but should be competitive in the class.... 6ohm btw gonna book the hotel tonight..

working on making it there... running 370watts & a pair of 12's in S1 MECA It's louder than you think
