  1. nvm.... pics just showed an x.... then I posted and now they load... hmmm.
  2. Did some one ohm on the sundown.... .8ohm resting, ZERO on the amp gain, ZERO on the deck gain, vol 45..... So no where near maxed out 12.4volts 378A consumed 4687.2watts 72volts 48A Produced 3456watts 74% eff
  3. I've tried rolling as well... still cut out.... Possibly too low of load or voltage... however my volts are pretty consistant at 12.4+ even on full burps I'll test more if I don't sell them first
  4. I did fail to mention that I dj'd for a few year and do have 20k songs in my playlist... so variety isn't a problem
  5. I believe nick (or some fi guy) has posted on this forum that the extreme lead option won't hinder any performance for daily...
  6. It would be more fair.. however I don't have a pair of 1500's.... I'll do some 1 ohm testing at a later time... I'm busy building the civic for the Carl Casper Show in KY
  7. I was VERY suprised/impressed with the massive... I really didn't think it'd do more than 1500-2000... gained db at the headrest with it as well (I tested power output/consumption and SPL all at the same time).. roughly 2db more output over the sundown.. I need to get a good 1 ohm test on the sundown and get a good 4 ohm test on the visonik... I'm building for Casper's this week, so I'll have a little more battery power available (a little better install as well..)
  8. Sorry You're right, they're rated at 2 ohm... I thought they were the same as the old vx1800d's... I talked to my buddy and he said all the guys running 1 ohm strapped have "modded" it, but all they're doing is bypassing the protection circut.. apparently on 12v the amp has issues with going into protect... I searched online and found a bunch of forum topics on the issue... I don't have a 16v setup to test with so maybe I'll put a 4-ohm load on it and see what it does... I don't have time to test now or anytime soon though..
  9. Sorry for the double post my first one... darn
  10. Fuse size is irrelevant. I have seen a 140A draw on an 80A fuse with no problems on the fuse. Also saw peaks of 300A on a 25A fuse. Power supply section is good for the rated power. The amp section is a bit on the small side. ' I tested my p3000d at 3440watts at 2 ohm, more than rated power.... As for fuses.... Massive amps don't have any onboard fusing, and I can pull over 2000watts through one 35amp fuse my zx 2500 only tested at 2675watts at 2ohm (however this was not done on the same day/time ect.... different testing all together... I tested it last year and that's the best output I saw)
  11. The visonik is stable to .5ohm when run solo (it's advertised as 1ohm)... strapped it's recomended that the load be 2ohm (but one ohm stable)... same as the clif amps I had a while back.. I've been told there are several guys that run these strapped at one ohm (on 16v)... I need to pull my other amp out and test it to see if it does the same, just to make sure something isn't wrong with the one amp.. ***It was running two ohms (with rise) anyway.... dual one nightshade wired in series... 1.2ohm resting...

99.9% of other customers hate allens (including me). You can order allens if you want, I have some. BOOOOO why am I always the odd man out? Phillips are nice until you start to strip them... my db-r 3000 came with two Semi-stripped set screws so it's a bit of a B---- to tighten stuff down... Hard to strip an allen if you use the right size
  13. WELL THE MEASUREMENTS WERE ALL Spaced out properly prior to posting... looks like the forum doesn't allow extra spaces...
  14. rushnrun replied to sundownz's topic in Sundown Audio
Can we get allen head set screws instead of phillips???? I hate phillips set screws..
  15. He only charge me 100bucks for labor... I paid him more..... Wow.... that's a bunch of work to only ask for $100
  16. Here's the exact numbers... All were tested using the Single Nightshade 1.2ohm resting roughly 2ohm with rise Amp Power Produced Consumed Watts Produced Watts Consumed Eff Swiss SDX1000A 45.2v 13.1A 13.1v 57.5A 592 753 78.6% Visonik 4000XD 45v 20.2A 12.95v 74.2A 909 961 94.6% Sundown SAZ3000D 77v 31A 13.1v 219.5A 2387 2875 83% Massive P-3000D 91v 37.8A 12.0v 360A 3440 4320 79.6% Massive is the only 2-ohm rated amp... The rest are rated at 1-ohm Tested with the car off 2A 12v power supply connected.... The visonik kept clipping out... I still don't know why... If I have time I'll test the other one that I have.. The massive clipped on full burps-low voltage.. my batts were getting tired by then.
  17. well it'd be the easiest fix so keep the fingers crossed... I'd look into getting an ANL either way.. the connection is much better (IMO)
  18. well with my luck I think my VK is faulty... Or I've got some other issue.... anyhow... Before the amp clips and shuts down into protect (1/4 gain volume 34 or zero gain and volume 39--both gave same results)... 909watts 94.6efficiency... (this number is good and was reproduced within 10ths several times... I didn't believe it myself..) Basically the amp clips every time I play a sine wave... in this case 60hz cycle (where I test all my amps) However the amp plays music just fine and puts out more power... However I won't post those numbers because they don't fit with the test.. bummer... On music I can crank the gain and play it full tilt in upwards of 2k but not for burps... doesn't make sense to me..... anyone want to chime in on that feel free
  19. Ok Doing some Testing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! testing is being done with a single Nightshade 12 with rise it's roughly 2ohm... 1st up Swiss Audio 1000 (the 2000 won't stay on...) 592 watts something like 78% efficiency... I wrote it down but misplaced it... Not bad for a 1 ohm rated 1000watt amp 2nd Sundown SAZ-3000D 2387watts, 83% efficiency Not too shabby for a 1 ohm rated amp! 3rd Massive Audio P3000D 3440watts, 80%efficiency.... 15%more than rated power, this amp is rated at 2ohms...THE ONLY 2OHM MONO AMP IN THE TEST 4th Visonik..... it's coming up next....

No - it has alot more stuff in it. It is a bit over 4" longer. Boooo..... I'm just building the amprack for my saz3000d any other dimensions gonna be bigger?____Maybe I'll just leave that much slack in the amp rack... BTW I just tested the 3000 on one of the N/S 12's and it's doing 2387watts @ roughly 2 ohm (with rise--sub sits 1.2) it's about 83% eff in my testing so far... I've got to dig up the thread on your testing.... Not posting any good numbers DB wise but power output at 2-ohm is more than I expected.
  21. rushnrun replied to sundownz's topic in Sundown Audio
will it remain in the same size case??
  22. rushnrun replied to sundownz's topic in Sundown Audio
nope, no pic ****fixed it while I was posting... I see it now
  23. I bet it's the maxi fuse.... I'm just listing the other possibilities.. if you live somewhere where they use road salt it's very likely that the connection is bad inside the holder... remove the fuse and take a look at it.. What amps did you run before??? (lower current draws are less likely to show the power/connection issues) The ground Has to have Bare metal contact to work... if it's not you may only be making a connection where the bolt directly contacts the metal (where it passes through it) I would check the fuse, then I would make sure that ground connection is "good" clean it up if it's not already bare metal. ***it's possible that any of the questionable connections have become corroded during the winter months (pending on your location more likely than others)
  24. Heater core is done... My buddy got it in his shop and got the work done in one day.... wooo hooo.... back to building..
