Welcome to the IHoP
Man, I am so tempted to sell all of my amplifiers and pick up a pair of those new Alpines. I *think* I might even be able to swing them price wise if I can sell all of my current amps for the right price. I would be sad getting rid of 6 amps, just so I can own 2 (and my option to go active would fly out the window)....but man, those things are just so god damned drop dead sexy!!

When you conduct this same experiment in a scientifically controlled setting, with a scientifically valid experiment, let me know The differences you heard are likely due to either power or gain differences. That simple.

How do you have it mounted ? I noticed that if you have the screw all the way unscrewed, and have the crossover vertically mounted, that sometimes it's almost like the screw won't fully catch the clamp, and it wouldn't tighten all the way. What I did was always make sure that I had the crossover horizontal when I connected the wiring. Worked fine for me from there-on-out. Because one time I did experience what you seem to be experiencing....I had the unit mounted vertically, *thought* I had everything tightened down...yanked the wires for my final "before I close the trunk" check, and the ground wire came right out. So, like I said....if you have it mounted vertically, try connecting the wires while it's horizontal instead.

ID OEM 12's Now on Ebay
Great info from Eric Stevens (president/owner of ID) on these: They are mostly built using OEM version of ID series parts and with different voice coils etc. They are very much desinged in the way we always design products for SQ with good SPL. The 12 and 15 have more excursion and would be best compared to the IDSPL drivers we have built but with a softer suspension. So they will have SQ that is close to an IDQ and more SPL than an ID. The 10's are like a cross between IDQ and ID using mostly parts from the ID series but a bigger motor structure. Eric Image Dynamics

eD Kv2's I believe They are definitely not IDQ's. They would most likely perform most closely to the ID series. eDuhs with ID cones on them? hummm not sure ID was (up until just recently ) eD's buildhouse. ID claims they are just building subwoofers with spare parts they have to reduce some inventory.....but, given eD just recently left them to have their subwoofers built in China, it's not a far stretch to imagine that these are spare parts from their time as an eD buildhouse that they are trying to get rid of. <edit> Actually, these 15's are probably closer to the Ov2 than the Kv2.- ID OEM 12's Now on Ebay

Somewhere ... on your property ... Heh......I'm not even so sure it's here I don't recall lending it out to anybody....but it isn't anywhere it should be. And I can't even remember when the last time I used it was. But god damnit....I wanted to start workin' on my stereo. But I can't run the table saw without that cord....and I'll be damned if I'm going to go out and pay $20 for another one.- Welcome to the IHoP
If there are any psychics on this forum, I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me where my pucking extension cord is.- Xe. load no longer ..
There was some BS about it in the CES thread over on soundbuggy. Supposed to be the most linear and best sounding subwoofer ever produced by PG, one of the most efficient subwoofers on the market (Hoffman's Iron Law, anyone?), a dream for both SQphiles and bassheads alike, yadda yadda yadda. Typical promotional "best thing since sliced bread" type of comments.- Xe. load no longer ..
They have a line coming out called the Ryval. Not sure how that fits into the grand scheme of things though.- Xe. load no longer ..
It's the RSD Competition. http://img205.imageshack.us/my.php?image=r...012stand4xt.jpg http://img205.imageshack.us/my.php?image=rsdc10d25xx.jpg Supposed to be a very efficient subwoofer aswell. I'm not holding my breath.- Omega Midbass (22mm of xmax)
I'll be looking forward to future tests then, to see how everything compares with what's been published. npdang will be a good one. How soon until an early production piece will be in his hands? PS: I would take Matt's keyboard away. His immaturity shines through when he gets all keyboard commando. - ID OEM 12's Now on Ebay
