  1. Damn Ramos...you're making me wish it was a little warmer out here so I could build one too Looks like fun. Looking forward to hearing what you think about the sound/output.
  2. Looks great Mike! I may very well pick up a pair (or 4, or 6) at somepoint in the future. I presume high frequency extension is still rather limited on these?
  3. I thought it was kinda funny when someone posted up WTB thread looking for the "Limited Edition Signature Series" subwoofers.....LOL
  4. I know I have a car audio addiction when...... .....I waste a half tank of $2.50/ga gas driving random country roads in the middle of the night with absolutely no destination other than to be as far away from people as I possibly can, so I can relax and be at one with the music .....my stereo, and the music it's playing, is my 2nd best friend .....I spend more time with my stereo more than my fiancee .....I base my vehicle purchasing decisions off of which will work best with my stereo plans, or potential future setups .....I can't look at the interior/trunk of a vehicle without visualizing how I would setup a stereo in it .....the local shops know not to try to "sell me" on any products, because chances are I already know more about the product than they do .....I turn to look at the "street beater" driving down the road not because I am impressed by their bass, but so I can point and laugh at them as they drive by because of how bad their trunk is rattling (most of the time I can hear the rattle before I can hear the bass)
  5. But it will only be able to output it's "rated RMS" power for a maximum of 16 seconds (assuming the ratio of capacitance stays the same). And it will draw that current continuously, instead of only as needed. Sure, this amp only draws a maximum of 350A...but it does it continuously, like a class A. Not many electrical systems can sustain a continuous draw of 350A. Really, IMO this amp is not nearly what they make it out to be. And it CAN NOT support a 15kw output for any length of time....as werewolf pointed out in that thread, a maximum of 16 seconds (calculated with the information given). It's more like a 4kw amp with a burst power of 15kw, rather than a true 15kw RMS amplifier.
  6. I can't recall off hand if it was ever posted over there or not. But like I said....you're more than happy to try
  7. Unless you can hurry up and find 6 more people willing to buy one Yes, for now atleast it is dead. I only had like 6 other people who said they would buy one...that was has half of the necessary 12. Was a valiant effort though
  8. http://memoryfoamsource.com/foamtopper3inch
  9. Yeah, I was able to find this: http://www.cardomain.com/item/STISGMSM Now I just wish I could find somewhere closer that carried it
  10. Need fast help finding a product. IIRC there used to be a product you could use to "adapt" top-post batteries to side-post cars. It would clamp onto the post on top, and had a short neck that would hang over the side of the battery (to the typical side-post position) and then had a hole on the bottom portion of the neck to screw in the side posts to. Anybody have any idea WTF I'm talking about, or where I can find one?
  11. I know I have a car audio addiction when...... .......I have driven my car for weeks on end, with the only pieces of interior still in the vehicle being the steering wheel and the driver's seat. .......my closet can not be used for it's intended purpose because my various collection of stereo equipment consumes all of the space .......I have gone through 5 completely different setups, yet none of them have actually made their way into my car. .......the UPS guy could drive to my house blindfolded .......I go through more MDF than underwear .......the wifey only knows about 1/4 of my car audio purchases, and even then she is misinformed about the price of the ones she does know about .......I can wake the neighbor two houses away in their upstairs bedroom......with my highs
  12. Now that I'm out of that deal with Mr. Loki, I think I might just keep those four Coustic 8's I have and build a WO for them. If I built the smaller sized enclosure and ran all 4 in an isobaric configuration, I bet I could fit 'er in my trunk
  13. some people don't have that mentality LOL....oh, I have the mentality. It's the spare room in the ole pocketbook that I don't have I think he was referring to the fact that I did not type, "it" after swing. LOL Aaron! Nice find! Yeah....I've always been the slow kid Now that I understand it, that was pretty funny....LOL
  14. Good luck meng. Once you start that enclosure, be sure to post up progress pics
  15. Here is a way to test for the main T/S parameters with basically a DMM and a resistor: http://sound.westhost.com/tsp.htm From what I hear, you can use a shareware tone generator for your pc to get the required inputs aswell. Though, I think this is kinda funny: There's an error in the update about the previous error....LOL Proofreading FTW !!
  16. I've never used it...but from what I remember reading over in SIN, it isn't horribly accurate, and even then it's already only marginally good performance depends greatly upon the quality of your sound card.
  17. While that is the ideal situation....it's not possible
  18. For those of you that remember this.....the baby was born back on July 21st (thought I posted that in here...but can't find that post). After struggling for life the past 6 months, baby Connor passed away last night
  19. Are you serious? Maybe log out and try logging back in? It looks totally different. Looks the exact same to me as well. Except when aaron was changing it around It doesn't look like this to you?
  20. Don't know yet. But my battery definitely took a chit and is down for the count. Fix that first, then we can go through and make sure everything else is working properly.

  22. Turns out my battery decided to take a dump. Oh well.....atleast this gives me the opportunity to upgrade to a Kinetik HC1800.
  23. I so totally hate my pucking car. Stupid pucker wouldn't start for me today after work Two pucking months ago it leaves me stranded 30 miles from home...and now this....
