Maybe have a "guest section", where one week each month we have an industry "heavy hitter" come in and basically members can ask questions directly at this person. It wouldn't be bad. You'd only have to come up with 12 people a year. Big name competitors. People in the industry. Big name shop owners. Etc etc. Heavily moderated to curtail any BS in that section. I dunno....I'm just grabbing at thin air here......

I can get on that, and I can try to get others to post up. But how if someone posts the end all - be all of "how to crimp wire", then that doesnt create alot of discussion here. Hits, yes... traffic, no. Yeah...but the more people that "hit" the site, the more likely they'll see something else that peaks their interest. Sort of like the companies (*cough* Walmart *cough*) that have "HUGE SALES" on certain merchandise....which mysteriously is never in stock during the sale period. Gets you in the door, and they hope something else suits your fancy while you're there. I dunno, some people don't like the vbb software that we have here, or the dark / light skins. I dont mind them, but i supppose they could be different. <shrug> Yeah....see your point. Easier PM mgmt, "karma", galleries, i dunno. GALLERIES!!!!

One of the worst live "big name" band I've seen was probably Saliva. He can do the growling thing pretty decently....but when he tries to sing it's just absolutely horrendous. It'd have been more enjoyable and less painful to shove poison-laced toothpicks into my eardrums. Mars Volta (sp?) is was horrible live aswell. Jimi Hendrix wanna be motherpuckers. The tunes were decent I guess, but the lead singer was just freaking retarded acting on stage. And they didn't have any lyrics to their songs. The guy just stood on stage screaming one-syllable words. "Hey. Yeah. Hey. Yeah. Heeeyyyyyyy. Yeeeaaaahhh. Hey yeah. Yeah. Hey." Another bad one was a band called Nashville Pussy. Opened for Marilyn Manson. Worst music I'd ever heard in my life. However, the bassist and the guitarist were both chicks, and they started making out and feeling each other up at the end of the set. That was pretty cool.

I saw Evanescence live a couple years ago and thought they rocked. Amy Lee's voice was unbelievable at that show. Though, I was watching MTV or something a few weeks later and they were on there performing live for whatever reason....and she sounded like chit. I think it's kind of a hit or miss with them. Luckily when I saw them, it was a hit Oh.....and the fact that she looked abso-pucking-lutely hot didn't hurt things either. Me G/F was there with me and was like "So do you think she's hot??" My response "fudge yes!"

Hmm....after posting this I realized that my topic description sounds like a pirate. But, anyways.....help me decide what to do with my stereo...LOL. I can't decide if I want go with an active 3-way DIY frontstage consisting of Coustic Design Reference & Vifa speakers, or go simple with a pair of Memphis Sync8's On the one hand, I really like the sound of my DR 7's when I was running them with my horns. But, likewise, the Sync8's are responsible for many World Championships in SQ comps, and I do really like the sound of audiolife's Sync 5.25's. Plus the installation and setup with the Sync's would be much easier and simpler and would allow me to use my external dual 31 band EQ for tuning, and it'd be killer to have a true point source comp set (and I can get an awesome deal on a set). But, the idea of a 3-way frontstage is really intriguing aswell as I've never had 3-ways in my car before, and I already have all the drivers so I wouldn't need to buy anything other than little stuff like more speaker wire. But the setup and tuning would be much more difficult and time & space consuming, and I'd be limited to 5 bands of parametric EQ on the tweet and 5 bands on the midrange/midbass. Basically boils down to; Active 3-way; more complicated setup & tuning, limited tuning and more space taken up but great sound and little to no additional money spent (just wires and whatnot). Sync's; much simpler install, more tuning capabilities, great sound aswell, but spending a little bit more money for them. On top of that.....if I went with the Sync's I was debating whether to sell all my amps (8 in total) and pick up a single RF Power T8004 and run a single amp (again, could get a pretty good deal on one) for a very simple yet excellent sounding setup. But, then it would totally eliminate the possibility of going active in the future since I'd be down to only 1 amp in my possession. So....overall, I really have no idea WTF I want to do about anything here....LOL Any thoughts?

I am such a freaking retard. Driving around all day yesterday thinking my sub was blown. Everytime it would hit hard, it'd make this horrible popping sound. So, I shut my subs off mid-morning and didn't turn them back on until I got back home from work. When I get home from work I did a little investigating and saw my amp was loose. So, I tightened it back down thinking it was just the amp rattling. On my way to Walmart later that night, and it's still making that damned popping noise. So I was thinking "Oh great, either the spider or surround came loose". Pulled into Walmart's parking lot to investigate some more........and then I realized that I had left the masking tape covering the 6x9 openings in my rear deck from when I was sound deadening this weekend. They were basically acting like passive radiators...haha. Pulled the tape off and all was well again However, I'm probably one of the few people in the world who have heard masking tape reproduce sound. And man....does it sound bad.....very "papery".
