The 40.1 can be run lower than 1 ohm on proper electrical.

As long as you got the electrical they should both power your DP's just fine! The 40.1 might be hard to find right now until they release the new version.

Should be a good budget amp! Even though I have no hands on experience with them but have read good things. As for reliability or customer service ... . If it fits the budget go for it! Another option might be to check out dB-r Electronics and see if they have any refurbished amplifiers available in the price range.
Look into the BL from Fi or the 4XL or Lvl5 from DC. Check out Thorshammer on here and check out his vids under the DC forum.
What does DC recommend?
Do you own the SSD's? If not why not look at either the BL's or BTL's?
You can check prices on the Sundown Nightshade and Icriminator Audio Warden in the SSA store. As far as going to 3K watts, you do realize that your budget will be going up to cover upgrading your electrical!
Adding another size of woofers is a not a good idea! Cancellation will be a problem! If you're looking for more why not try tuning a little higher like around 35hz.
As long as the amp has adequate air flow area above, below and around it, it should be fine. I would leave at least 2-3" minimum of clearance above the amp heatsink.
