Sweet write up, I am always looking for new ideas when doing fiberlassing. Bigger pictures would be better if you can.

You should be ok. Make sure to not skimp on the power/ground wire. Use 1/0 gauge or greater.

Looks great! Those SMD subs are monsters. I like the port design, I prefer that over a standard L-Shaped.
Building these woofers yourself? Looking forward to the finished product!
I would read through this. A great paper written about ports!
The CDT looks to be more of a sub woofer. That big ol' fat surround really takes away from the sd of the cone. The ID looks like a nice driver but really cannot tell with no specs.
Do some research at Madisound they have some very nice drivers at a very reasonable price.
