i was thinkin it was the regulator maybe? if a regulator goes bad i know ur volts can get really high but i dont know if it could make them drop like that.

well mine obviously does since it starts out at 14.2 it should stay at that instead of slowly dropping.

ok so when i first turn my car on my volts are usually 14.2 when im not even playin my sub or have my ac on it slowly drops to 13.5 and sits there. then the rest of the day i never see 14s again i had my alt checked and its fine so i have no idea wat it is. any ideas?

i no how much its rms is but i wana no how much it can actually handle. like with my bl its rms is 1000 but it can take way more. In my opinion if you have to ask how much it will handle, then you shouldn't put any more then rms. if you dont ask questions about subs that you have no idea about how would you learn about them? i was jus talked into goin with IA and ive never looked that much into them. As with any sub if you want to put more then rated power to it, you should know when it is reaching its limits. Someone could say they put 2000W to their DR, does that mean your going to be able to do it in your install. Maybe, maybe not. thats exactly why im askin this question? i wana know its limits.

o wait my bad. i was thinkin for sum reason he meant just use the sub and amp i have now and not get the IA lol. im gona use the 1500d. i was just wondering if it could handle the 1500d and maybe more. i jus wana no how this sub is before i buy it

you need to get a dual 2 ohm for your amp if you want 1000 watts outa it.

you read my mind. lol what kind of power are you running? go with two ICON 15's if price is an issue. Can't go wrong with those either. right now im jus tryin to figure out wat i want. i dont have money now but im bout to start soon at o reillys distribution center and ill be makin pretty good money. ive been thinkin bout the icon's cuz i liked how the xcons where. im assuming they would be pretty precise like the xcon i heard jus not slam as hard. if i got the icons i would strap some 1500ds. idk if ill have enough room in my jimmy though. i still wana keep the backseats so i have the very back to work with.

the box i have for it now is really nice. i like how it sounds but i wana try another sub. ive made two boxes for the bl and i like the second one way better but i wana try sumin different.

the smell could have also been the glue on the sub wearing off since its new. usually when you first start playin a new sub it smells cuz the glue.

alright so right now i have a 15" bl and its jus not cutting it anymore. i want something more. my buddy has a 18 xcon and i like how it sounds but i dont wana get the same sub. pretty much i want something that slams like the xcon. i want it to get loooow and sound good. i need some opinions
