  1. yeah the part with Kat Williams, also the first part of the IAK Oldskool, i like this sort of approach..... definetly like hearing IAK in there, perhaps several times within the finished song.... this was not too fast pace for me, however it might of slowed down after :36 quite a bit, rather it stay a little more upbeat through out. i bet i have done demo's of your different styles a dozen times in the past 2 days, showing the family and some friends all of this. i am very excited about it. I can se you are very capable, it is just a mtter of me catching up to speed, in order to know what terminology to use, lol...... i see the reerance to old school popping up, that is some cool stuff, i would imagine the other half of my crew, who has not been able to respond yet, would want a newer approach. lol. most of thier music is ganster, street.....not sure what to call it, lol we, really appreciate this! chop Heh that's one of my problems sometimes I can get carried away and get really eccentric I guess you would call it, lol... that last part with the strings was kind of a spur of the moment thing. But never fear we will get this put together! A quick overview of new school vs. old school styles as I see it... your opinion may vary With the old school bass mixes... I find that the percussion is a lot more complex and plays a much bigger role in the music... the tracks tend to be dynamic; always changing samples, synths and instruments keeping you on your toes. Stuff like bigrank mentioned ( ).A new school street sound might be quite a bit slower, feature less instruments and keep the flow of the song much more guided and predictable... not necessarily any better or worse after all it's a completely different sound. Comparing the two head to head is apples to oranges. A faster example of this would be Timbaland's Elevator (the instrumental I used in Already Faded) but more often than not it's the sound something like this ( ... which I must mention is the loudest song I have besides straight test tones... lol!)
  2. You mean Bass is the Name of the Game?

Or you can live in Texas and experience all four seasons in one day! lol
  6. Thanks man I really appreciate the kind words. The demo track I linked to above has the fast high-to-low bass kicks like old Beat Dominator or Bassotronics stuff, they're just really hard to hear on regular speakers... The constant bassline you hear throughout the song is mainly just for fill, honestly if it intrudes into the subwoofer range I want to reduce the volume and EQ shape it a bit so the low end is purely dedicated to the kicks. If all that makes any sense. lol!
  7. Thanks man! But I'm really just a beginner at Photoshop... that's what I love about it though there's always something new to learn
  8. When I get Photoshop up and running here in a couple days I could help you guys with the graphics design... t-shirts and such Here is some of my work:
  9. Class Act Productions is the branding I give all of my production services, from beat creation, to recording, mixing, etc. etc. Yes I use FL Studio stuck with it all the way from version 3 up to 9 now Most of the tracks listed on that soundclick account are some of my earlier endeavors... the more "complex" ones I guess you could say are more recent lol OK, well I kinda made this little demo in bout an hour before I read your post chop... it's more of a fast paced track & if someone could give it a listen in the car I would appreciate it (even if you guys want to go in another direction with this, I just want to make sure the bass levels aren't too loud for whatever track I do... using studio monitors but they're nothing compared to actual subwoofers ) Here is the link I have some more music on my MySpace page and the CAP MySpace page as well, finished songs that is Chop: Which part of the song were you referring to? The intro with Katt Williams or when I came in?
  10. Started working on one idea today, just to see where it takes me... it's sounds more along the lines of the old school bass songs circa early 90's (Bass I love you, 1,2,3,4,5,6 Bass anyone?) but would you guys prefer something like that, or something that sounds more modern along the lines of rap/hip-hop?
  11. Well, stepped outside about 10 this morning to the scene below: This is the front building of my apartment complex, the area you see with the damage is a small beauty shop renting a space next to our apartment office. Apparently what happened was an elderly lady stepped on the gas instead of the brake (seems to happen a lot, doesn't it?), effectively turning the salon into a drive-thru. Nobody was hurt thank goodness, the woman was taken to the hospital as a precaution. To be honest, the car doesn't look too damaged for what it did to the damn building, but then again who knows what kind of damage there might be to the framework. I know this has nothing to do with the recent Toyota recalls, it just made a catchy title When I get old, somebody PLEASE take my keys away!
  12. You said the magic words right there. There are so many mysteries about the universe that we've yet to figure out, the human mind included, but if people would learn to accept what is "different" or "outside the norm" we can continually make steps toward figuring it out. It's the closed-minded idiots that halt the forward progress of civilization but hopefully natural selection will weed them out
  13. Well I mean I genuinely believe that children are much more receptive to psychic/paranormal phenomena outside of simply being taught by society that such things are figments of our imagination, why I cannot say but there seems to be much evidence supporting it. Kinda diverging from the point again, but there was a story featured on one of the major news programs a few months back of a man who had supposedly built a "real life ghost catching machine"... some sort of chamber that harnessed and captured electromagnetic energy and prevented it from escaping. Apparently many major news crews were there and said he had demonstrated the machine to great success, there were some pictures floating around the internet of this supposed "apparition" in the machine but for the life of me I can't find anything through Google.
  14. To be completely honest with you, I can't make any raves or rants 'bout the Storm 2 since I have no experience with it... RIM might've figured out how badly they screwed up with the first one and made the proper changes to it. It was sort of a rush job due to the overwhelming success of the iPhone in '08, it got pushed out the door while practically still in development. The most recent software version (which was released in February mind you) fixed about 75% of the problems plaguing the phone (battery life has increased 4 fold from the initial software release!) , but it is far from bug free, and if I'm not mistaken both the Storm 1 & 2 share the same software, but 2 has double the device memory... if you want to read up on it a bit more I foundthis website with a video comparing the two.
  15. Even Micky D's has free Wi-Fi now. It's a conspiracy to fatten America up even more.
  16. "I had your back, punk ass bitch!" Haha! And he was givin' Sting a hard time too...
  17. True I heard bread loaves and other baked goods have a natural resonating frequency of 30Hz which will improve the bass output by a minimum of 14.668 dB
  18. That's the magic word right there and something that's really difficult for everyone to come to a consensus on... Honestly, I would say we can shoot for sometime in June again, that gives everyone a few more months to tighten up their setups. Have to get a date as many people can attend as possible though. And then we need to find a location... we ended up moving a few times last year before we finally found a nice dirt field to park in, that was in San Marcos. I wouldn't mind driving to Austin if there was a good spot we could all meet up at.
  19. Well, they do say that children have a heightened sense of such things; whether this has to do with the structure of the brain at that age or simply the lack of biased adult opinion towards such things I do not know I agree with you to a certain point that the tendency of the human mind to 'overthink' and exaggerate during times of stressful events can definitely play a role in the memory of such events, we all remember seeing a scary movie as a kid and afterwards having that eerie feeling of somebody watching you. Hell, I still get it sometimes lol! Such is the power and complexity of the human mind though, to think. You think, therefore you are! It's what makes us such a kickass species However, getting back to the original point, it's harder to explain away such things as premonition-dreams as coincidences when they consistently turn out right, or happen to large groups of people. I mean, closed-minded skeptics will always try and argue the point but there's no helping those people. And the scientific community has tried to explain the idea of sleep paralysis away as simply a physical reaction... here is a WIkiPedia article if you're interested... sure, they can tell you *how* it happens, that such and such part of the brain is firing neurons to blah blah blah but they can't tell you *why* it happens. Of course, after all anything we do, see, smell, taste, experience in this world is a matter of physical science. We can map out the entire brain and see how every pathway connects, how every emotion is created and transferred through our minds, but science can't explain why we experience such events and any attempts they make to dismiss such complexities away as simply a matter of evolution and natural selection I find to be ridiculous. Speaking of the power of the human mind... have you guys seen that episode of Mythbusters where they tested the so-called "psychic ability of plants"? I laughed at first but got to watching it... they hooked this plant up to a polygraph and had Tory sit there and think about hurting the plant in various ways... something like 35% of the time the plant reacted to it. Really interesting, albeit strange experiment. lol
  20. Ah... just schooled myself on YouTube about the entire process, lol! Don't get me wrong...I would get an iPhone, they are really neat little devices... but for one, the damn thing's still so expensive (not even talking about the 3GS here!) and secondly, the thought of breaking one contract just to jump into another frankly scares me right now. I mean, the apps are cool and all don't get me wrong, but that's why I got the Storm in the first place was to use apps, and I ended up just using it for calls, text, pics, email, and browsing. Basic smartphone stuff. So I'm thinking I don't really need one. Plus, I just traded one of my buddies an 80gig 5G iPod video that I had laying around for his 8gig iPod Touch so if there's any really killer apps I want to get I can still download from the app store . The one feature I really loved that I got to play around with on my friends iPhone on a trip, was the Maps. I am an idiot with directions and that thing makes it damned near impossible to get lost. the iPod Touch has this too, but alas you need to be around a wireless hotspot to use any of those features (in-car wifi anyone?)
  21. Plus, I enjoy the zoom effect when you hover over an icon, a blind bat like me needs all the help he can get I believe something like that should've been integrated into 7 from the get-go, like the Macs have, but I guess enough people know about it now that it doesn't make a difference either way. That says something for the resourcefulness of Windows users, we can usually find ways around Microsoft's shortcomings
  22. Oh hey just noticed you're right up in Austin, you should come out to the next SSA Texas meet we have
  23. Oh you mean flash it over?
  24. Which is why most people choose not to believe or even acknowledge such things
  25. or just fold the seats down? haha Hehe yeah if that option is available by all means that's a lot easier solution lol! Forgot about that
