  1. Hmmmm, interesting. See, the way I was looking at it is. If you have a material that bounces sound waves back in, then if you were to put that in a box, then maybe it would push the sound waves out the ported box even faster and produce more sound:ughdunno: lol thats why I said it was a stupid question, cuz if that was the case then everybody would be doing it lol. Thanx for the input tho, I was just always wonderd about what if lol.
  2. I've always just wonderd this, what would happen, or what effect would it have to put sound deadening or Mass Loaded Vinyl inside of your box? I know it sounds stupid, but just curious I guess lol
  3. Yeah, they might be there. Its starting to seem like there is always something though. Everytime DC didn't reply for a while, either someone was sick, or someone was waiting on someone else, or they are moving from this place to that place, its just always something that is preventing them to get this man a date or a product.
  4. So do you get invited? Or do you ask? Can you join just by slaping a SSA sticker on ur windshield, and then show a member as proof? Do you have to be competetive and run all SSA products? Submit videos, pictures? etc etc etc... lol I've always wonderd what it took to become part of a team, because I see them all over the site. Team DC, Team SSA, Team IAK, etc etc etc.
  5. Stupid question: If his alts are done and have been forever, and you're just waiting to complete the brackets......why not ship the guy his alts (more than likely the most costly part of this transaction), and DC Power contract and pay for someone like tejcurrent, another manufacturer right here on this forum, to build the brackets? It seems like this would go a long way towards completing the transaction on a pretty timely basis. At the very least, this would put the biggest chunk of change back into the OP's hands by having a tangible product in his possession. Then the only thing left is the bracket, which if another manufacturer such as tejcurrent can't produce on a timely basis, it's less of a refund that would need to be made by DC. And the OP can be on his merry way finding someone who can build a bracket for him. With all of the machine shops in the US, and another manufacturer right here on this forum whose explicit business is building alt brackets, I can't believe this isn't something that could have been completed at least since the start of this thread.....much less nearly 2 years. I totally agree. Personally if I was a company, I couldn't hold a persons money for two years without product. There are to many other options to for brackets these days, and 2 years, that's crazy. I couldn't wait that long even if I haven't paid upfront. I don't know how in the world you let them dick you around this long. I hope this can get settled. I always thought DC was a good company, but regardless, this isn't right. Wow, I just spent the past hour reading this whole thread. So RHoughton1, do you know anything new yet? like this crazy, this isn't just *shit* It doesn't take 2 years for a *shit* to get resolved. I honestly think you have done the right thing by keeping SSA updated on this whole situation. It seems like DC is trying to keep this from the public as much as possible, which I can't blame them, I would too if I took a customers money and never gave them a product after 2 years.
  6. I'm in Nashville TN, and I wouldn't mind making the trip on a weekend either I'm in the same boat as wagon, being a team member would be amazing, being part of just good people who love Car Audio.
  7. wow, you really need to calm down sir. You say its all about trial and error, but yet, you rather waste your time failing, insteading of taking in somebody else's advice, that probly already failed at doing what your trying to do now. Learn from somebody else's mistake, thats why your on here right? To get other opinions to try and help YOU out. I don't see how you can have the balls to try and shoot other ppl down, when their doing you a favor. If you don't like the responses, then why do you keep asking, over, and over, and over again. M5 tried helping you multiple times because he knew what works, and how to atleast get you a step closer to solving your issue the right way the first time. And nobody cares about what you are or who you know that has w/e. So how about you get off your uncle's balls, and try to build your own reputuation, which it seems like your have already failed at
  8. Hah, thanks. I had 20 mins to kill and this came in handy! Goofy animated gifs ftw. yeah sometimes If your catch a few really good pages, you wish you had more time lol.
  9. I'm a desktop support guy here @ work, and I'm not sure if this has been broughten up or not. But I thought that I may share a site that I visit to past time and lmao with you guys just in case you ever feel the need to burn some time away. http://www.forumopol...ead.php?t=76345 Just click on any page number and there will be laughs to be made.
  10. If SSD's are stuck in your head, then why don't you just get them? We are giving you our opinion, and it sounds like your just sticking to what you want to do. It sounds like you already have a plan that you want to stick to. I would suggest you get the SSD's since that is the plan that you have already started to build. And why would you build a wall if you still have a kid to drive around???? You should'nt even be thinking about any kind of wall
  11. Google/search and ask a real question.
  12. i made this just for you haha, why not i woke up on christmas eve and this is what santa left for me.. this is what im going to power 4 15" BTL N2's with, and my Kappa mids That's one hella of an investment
  13. Didn't mean it that way, he sounded excited about what he found, so I'm hoping all goes smooth, just saying the last thing he would like to see is the sell to fall through or go somebody else that offers the seller more money. I wasn't doubting the seller @ all.
  14. YES! You are correct. Hopefuly that guy isn't a shady seller. GL with the buy.
  15. they have nothing left and I think i'm going to stick with audiopipe for now. I'm always one to give companies a chance. I have heard a lot of really good talk about them and seen some solid reviews! With my budget in mind I think they are a good buy They get a lil warm. Just my .02 You should try AQ instead, or something similar to them.
  16. Well, ~25% per cone could be a differnce once you start to multiply them. Sure it could all add up, but for the average consumer, having a 10" square driver vs a 10" circular driver, the difference would be less then 25% and likely not audible, tuning the enclosure / raising net volume would be more noticeable And were not even talking about the actual sd of the driver, this number varies from model to model. And by your standards of gaining more output the driver could just have more xmax and thus more displacement. But theirs a limit to everything and a point to where it's not worth it, everything has it's trade-offs I guess all in all, its just not worth it?
  17. Yeah, I see your point, but then that would be more money for the consumer, If the buyer could lets say only fit a 10, then basicly, from what your saying, and what the video is saying, the buyer would be more satisfied if he/she bought a square woofer? I know this can't be true because its the overall box, amp, aplication, and the overall subwoofer design, etc etc etc. But, I'm wondering, how come the manufacturers that we love here on SSA, don't produce square woofers. But I think you answered my question by talking about the linear and distortation. I guess that would have to be one the disadvantage of the square design. I wonder if anyone has taken the time to try it out though, like put as much effort into the square design, as they do with the round ones. (besides Kicker) Because maybe if FI, or SA, or SSA or whomever could take the time to develop a proper square woofer design, that would take care of those few flaws in the square design, then maybe they would produce a subwoofer that would have more output without haveing to get a bigger driver? IDK, just wondering. It's not worth it, the disadvantages outweigh it's advantage. The cone area increase isn't dramatic. And it may be very costly for companies like Fi, Sundown, SSA to try and manufacture square cones. As for costing more for the consumer, eh your not talking about a big price jump considering theirs a $20 difference between a 12" and 18" xcon. Ohhh it does...... Hmmmm. hahaha, yeah, I never understood that.

  20. I ran across this video today, and it made me wonder if this guy was talking out of his ass or not. What he's saying does make sense to me, talking about a square has more surface area to push more air out then a round woofer would. But if that was the case, then how come almost no manufacturer on this site even offers a square in any of their lineups? This part didn't make sense to me, because from what this guy is saying, everybody would be designing square woofers right?
  21. Orrrrrr, lol, you may want to look into Kole Audio, Just get the one that has the bigger number that you can afford in their lineup since their amps are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy below rated power.
  22. I buy from online, (ssa, ficaraudio, sometimes CL, wires I would buy from ebay/Amazon pretty cheap on there) But I will never buy from retail i.e. Bestbuy, Electronic Express, CarTronics etc... And local shops generally are more knowledgable about Car audio then retail, but they will use that to their advantage and try to tell you how much your stuff sucks to what they have to offer, and with all the numbers they throw at you, and past exp or events they've attended, it can become very overwhelming and can sucker you right into what their saying.
