  1. You seem like you are actually interested in learning something. A lot of new recent members have been, not as easy to work with. OP, tell us, what kind of music do you like/listen to. What kind of sound are you looking for? And please, don't just say loud and clear Help us help you. If you like the warm sound of a deep breath before a person sings the next note, tell us. If you like more of the rind ding noise of the higher frequencies, tell us that. Or if you're only concerned with pronounce vocals, tell us that, etc. This will help us pick some speakers for you to choose. Other helpful things. What mounting locations are avaialbe? What is your budget? etc
  2. The 80 PRS is a full active head unit which will allow you to tone down some of the hot spots in the frequency response of the FT1s. I would advise to just go with a nice component set, or better yet, just some raw drivers from store like madisound.com
  3. Like I say man, it WANTS a smaller box! haha just grab a 15" box with an 18" hole. May need a little bit more port, but it'll be fine.
  4. You're gonna need a hell of a EQ for the tweets man. a simple xover point is NOT going to do you any good lol. You will need something like 80prs. You "can" make some small mounts out of mdf and mount them on the dash.
  5. Not a valid question man. Every box is different for every vehicle which is altered by subs and power and experience and fusing and do you see where I'm going with this?
  6. lol. Just going for more cone area until production model is release is all. Switching from a single 18" setup? Yeah man, I've been doing single sub setups since 2010 lol. Time to change it up. After SBN this year, I've realized something. If you want to be loud, you have to have big power, and multiple subs. If you are going for world records, then you are looking at trailor queen vehicles, and the like. Which run, one sub, two sub, and 10k watts. But that's not the route I want to take. For the class I have FINALLY decided to run lol, I need cone area. 30 second average at 6 feet away. This.
  7. lol. Just going for more cone area until production model is release is all.
  8. 1: Product: 1 DSS Magnetar 18" Prototype 2: Description: Like new condition, mounted twice. 3: Specs: 2500rms 4.5 cube box 4: Price: 400$ plus shipping 5: Picture: Said to sell. I'm in no hurry to sell either. Was never able put it in the proper enclosure. Whomever buys this sub I suggest an 4-5.5 cuft box with 100cuin of port.
  9. I agree. Sorry to hear bout that. I'm not sure if the recones have been offered with this "FOAD" design? or whatever it's called, but after looking at it it seems like the bolts would require the original terminal holes to be drilled larger to make room for the bolts and nylon washers. that's correct. If you now order a recone, you will be required to assembly the hardware that is given. This also requires for you to drill the appropriate sized holes through the outer basket.
  10. lol <3 Gonna build a new box soon. The two boxes it's been in so far are at the 7 cube mark, and the sub doesn't like that big of an enclosure. I'm not even gonna try with my 8 cube box I have. So once I build a new box, at 4.5 cubes, I will report back.
  11. How much of each do you have? To answer your question directly, leave all your Stock equipment unhooked. Just use the mids/highs on your amp.
  12. lol no but seriously man, can't wait until you get this thing up and running! 58s on music!
  13. I've been working on this rebuild, sorry I haven't had much time uploading images.
  14. hmmm, 6 12s ethos bc5500 1/2 ohm? Just maybe
  15. You can look at the wait as a plus. I know for me, I'm not sure what kind of work you do, but I work a typical 2nd shift, 5 days a week, and it's hard to find time to work on the truck. especially with the old lady. So, a 4 week wait time isn't a bad thing. Gives you time to ensure all prep is down. also gives you time to recuperate the cost of the speaker, and save up for the next purchase.
  16. I message you on FB, seeing how you've been.
  17. impressive
