  1. lol, the rms is not power handling, it is the thermal rating BUT, obviously, if you put it into a 20cubes box, and bottom out the piss out of it, or anything, you will damage. What I mean to say is, no matter the rating, a user can still very easily damage a sub at ANY power level.
  2. I wouldn't worry. You wouldn't believe how stinky/hot I've seen these get, IN PERSON. Lmao. Last year was getting demo'd during Slamology. Buddy had 4 18 sp4's in a wall, and I swear, it felt like he had an heater inside that damn van from how hot/stinky the subs had gotten. No failure ever occurred though.
  3. Grab some ZCONS man, or ethos.
  4. Hey brother, Thank you so much for this response. I really did smile while reading this. Means a lot to have so much support from you and other members. At this time, the Beyma has already been payed for as of This past Friday. SBN 2014 is literally right around the corner, so I wanted to get these in and tuned prior. I have no idea on lead time for the Beyma's, not sure if they are already built or built to order. But again, I cannot thank you for all the help you have provided thus far. Once they have arrived, I will be uploaded a crap ton more content. Ahhh! Finally, some relief! lol. I really do hope that these work out for me. And to you Honda, as well as others, I know that, once I have these things mounted in and playing, that my response will not sound so good, nor will it be optimal. I Just wanted you guys to know that yes, I acknowledge all of the downfalls for mounting these in the doors. I did not want to make it seem as if I'm being hard headed or seem I don't want any further help, as that is NOT the case. Thanks to all the input, now I know exactly where/what to target once these are installed. I know where my weak points will be, and will attack them accordingly. Getting the Beyma within 45 degrees from the passenger door shouldn't be a problem, doing so from the driver side, WILL be an issue, I'm sure. So that being said, 95honda, //M5, Impious, J, and whomever would like to chime in. What is the best way to mitigate poor performance due to the listener position not being within 45 degrees? The driver has already been selected, so saying buy a better off axis speaker is not what I need to hear, as I acknowledge that already LOL.
  5. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO haha, I"m so drained right now, will post full response tomor!
  6. Louder than justins 4 18 evils?Do you know how many decibelz its doing im curious? Well, idk. It was extremely low, I will say that. On the meter, 6 ft away, he was doing a 130.x but at like, 25hz. Its not sealed from the rear, so, just imagine, a astro van, with a wall, but feeling all this pressure coming from the sides of the wall. Plus, no power. rumor is to be 16bc5500s and 40batts when its all said and done. His goal is to take down Steve Mick.So your saying my truck was 5db louder 6ft away with only 3 subs and half his power? And he wants to be louder than Mick? LOL Thats 12db he has to make up for. Sounds to me like Justins Blazer with the Evils would shit all over this build. Not hating on it..... just sayingLol. You must have missed the part where he said the pnp score was on 25hz. Doing 130+ at ( it was actually 27 hz) is absolutely insane! He just got some 16v batteries and there should be more updates soon. Ill text him now and see if he has pics. Yeah, 130db+ at 6 ft away at 27hz LOL
  7. The Beyma does not have an phase plug.
  8. Oh yeah, and if dualing demos is how you describe, horn loaded low end with the apeture firing out the back would decimate your opponent... About the only time I would suggest such a thing... Picture of what you mean? Haha. I would love to get some ideas.
  9. Hey Honda, thanks for the input, as always, amongst every other person opinions. As stated in the very first page. I gave as much detail as possible. We, ssa, preach about listing as much details, goals, existing equipment, and orientation or whatever as much as possible. I listed all of said information, but yet, was still consistently pushed to go against what I was looking for. Besides a few, other members were against the idea. Which I understand, you are trying to help me to sound better, that's fine, I get that. But the size I wanted, for my goals, was given. I compete in MECA under Dueling Demos. This is new York style vehicle in front of vehicle where the crowd picks the winner. So yes, this includes booth doors being opened, with listener up to 50 ft away. So yes, output has a huge impact on driver selection. With the copy and past you've provide, this shows me that the cutoff goes to poop, that's fine, that's at 1250khz. I will not have my mid crossed that high. So this is not an immediate issue.
  10. Could you perhaps graph these out so I can compare, or tell me why you believe the the AE will blow this one away? It's not too late for me to cancel the order.
  11. I'm definitely going to have to figure what to do to reinforce my door panels. Any ideas? Hehe you're building a ported enclosures right? 25 lbs of driver plus several more pounds in fiberglass on the hinges is what i'd be possibly be concerned about.strengthening the door panels isn't really necessary since the driver is in an enclosure. just make sure you secure the enclosure properly (i'd consider rivnuts and maybe some kind of rubber washer between the enclosure and door). i would still apply cld tiles, butyl rope, mlv, and ccf in the usual manner. obviously the mlv wouldn't need to cover the lower part of the door panel where the enclosure will be. Ok, for sure. I'll try to gather supplies during the wait
  12. I'm definitely going to have to figure what to do to reinforce my door panels. Any ideas? Hehe
  13. Why thank you Monte!!! Haha. Good to see a positive post every once in a while I believe these will suit my needs quite! I was wanting a mid bass driver that can play well up to 1khz. This speakers offers that. The mid bass region is not so crucial for me as I will have cabin gain helping out with that, and well, while demoing, you won't here much of mid bass as the subwoofer will mask most of that sound. It appears that the lack if mid bass specific region is the only downfall of this driver. That is the compromise I was willing to take, and it fits the others bills quite nicely. Well besides weighing in at 25 pounds!!
  14. Stamped steel plated baskets are showing up everywhere now! Lol. Thanks for the share!
  15. Saying 95% of Fi speakers catching fire is due to user error is a pretty bold statement sir.
  16. Are you saying the specs contradict itself or the specs contradict it sounding good? Yeah, it's goona be hefty. Hopefully my fiberglass can come through on this.
  17. http://www.usspeaker.com/beyma%2012p80Fe-1.htm Ultimately I picked per recommendation of Eric Stevens.
  18. Wow, love it!
