Would deadner be able to seal the area off?

This will be my first time trying to do anything other than just straight swapping speaker for speaker. I have a '96 Jeep Cherokee Sport that i would like to stick a woofer in the "cubby hole" similar to this http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/write-up-97186/ . Except that i would like to avoid spray foam and just fiberglass the cavity. Is this feasible? Would it last? Also I would like to 'glass a replacement panel for the car instead of just hack up the original and hide the woofer. This is a Daily beater vehicle until i get around to finishing my classic car... and will probably remain a daily vehicle even after that. I was originally looking at SoundQubed's HDS210 and matching amp kit (especially now that they announced their BF Deals), but i think the woofer will be too deep for making it fit ~ flush. I have around 5" from the vertical plane to the sheet metal, I'm willing to bring just the woofer out but i need to keep cargo space (i know a box facing the hatch would be better). I think using the foam method they get ~1.1 cubic feet, and if i take just the easy to get space (and make it flush) looking at ~.6 cubic feet. Also I being in the military where my paycheck comes from everyones taxes, i would like to buy USA, as a way to give back, and not break the bank for daily stuff. Via SoundQubed forum that you host. I honestly don't remember how i came across them months ago... looking (still am) for something better than what you can get off the shelf at Walmart kinda product.
