Actually im just gonna rework the box i got, hell i just built it!!! And as far as changing out the port dbjunior....how did you determine that...i want this mother to "beat like a one-armed mexican..in a merichi band" tm. When i built the box i tuned it to 36Hz ....i thought, but yet it plays loudest around 45-50Hz...which sucks.....i wanted it low and loud. My current port in the same 12.57cu.ft box is 26" long x 6" wide x and 13.5" long (into the box) Ive got room for 4 6" ports but that would be about it.....im assuming i need more port area is why my current ported box is f'd up? Im about to go to home depot in a lil bit soooo...hook me up

I was wondering if the port calculater on the carstereo.com page was worth a poo? I used it to build my explorer (8 kicker comp 12"s and a 2500.1) as that worked out perfect......but i used it to build my 4runner (2 hk802sx amps, and 4 SSD 15''s loaded) and it doesnt impress me at all....so i think i figured out why.....here is the link to the page http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 But here is my real question...when you are calculating your port.....and you punch in all your factors and the end result tells you how long your port should be.....Does this program already remove the port displacement? Im assuming it does since you have to figure in your total cu. ft. before it can calculate anything......any help on this would be greatly appreciated...i cant seem to find the answer anywhere... if it helps my box has 12.57cu ft internal, after my speaker displacement. -im wanting to change my slot port to a round port Which using this program it says i can use (4) 4" ports at around 7" long? Before i hack my new box up to do this i want to make sure im going about it the right way..... Thanks guys!!!! SSA Forum rules!!!!!

JBL makes good stuff.....but there is better out there...if this sub fits your budget then its not bad. Ive heard JBL subs for the longest at several local and non-local stereo events and they always seem to do very well.....but like i said with a lil more $$$$ you can get something a lil better......

Well i added two new batteries today and built a battery rack to eventually hold a total of 4 batteries and replaced all my wire with the KnuKonceptz 0 awg wire and soldered every 0 awg ring terminal in my vehicle new and old....Will post pics hopefully tomorrow if i have time...Next i will re-doing the big three with better wire and terminals...... After listening to it with the new wire/terminals, new batteries, and having the amps moved.....it sounds just a hair better oddly enough...voltage is a lil better....ran it very hard for over a minute and it never fell below 11.4 volts.....could be better but still not bad.......

Well im not a racist person..by any means...but it just seems like the black community feels that they have to vote for him to make themselves feel better i guess.....Im just gonna sit back and watch the chit hit the fan and then suffer along with everybody else.....

I was watching Jay Leno the other night and i was listening to his "Jay Walking" skit, where he walks around on the street and asking people questions about random things.....this one being about the election......He walked around to several african americans and asked them questions like....What do you think about Obama, as you may know they all were like "HELLS YEAH!!!!!" and then turned around and asked them how they felt about having Palin as the vice president if Obama was elected.....(Palin is not running for vice president under Obama)....and when they were asked that question...you guessed it they all said....."Hellz yeah, Obama and Palin all the way......LOL This just goes to show how F'n stupid people are when it comes this election.....clearly certain people are voting for him because of his skin color.....and for all these people know he could be a terrorist.....but thats ok "he is black like us" as i heard someone say. Obama may be an awesome President for all i know...it just highly pisses me off that someone is getting all these votes for abso-f'n-lutly the wrong G. D. reason!!!! And possibly someone who would better suit the position for president wont be elected!!!!!! What is the world coming to........WTF people......May god have mercy on us!!!!!

More like it being overdriven for a long preiod of time....overheating and/or unraveling the voice coil at the same time.....then it will lock up....

well in my experience it isnt the best choice....dont get me wrong it works fine, but it will ALWAYS hit a lil harder firing toward the hatch. But i didnt have the room and i wanted the rear hatch to stay intact rather than fall off going down the highway one day blasting some young jeezy....So it still sounds good,..and it really cuts down on rattle......I would also suggest that if you did do this push the port as far back as possible....

Moved the amps today...raised the box up and mounted them under the box.....batteries will be here tuesday (couple days) so hopefully it will be louder...will post new pics as work progresses......

unless ur subs are made of plastic and you are burping them with insane amount of watts...then no you shouldnt have a problem....

I do the same as RobClay...actually exactly the same...seems to work the best....also when everything is put together nailed drilled screwed....run an extra bead of wood glue in the corners....always seems to strengthen and seal the box very well!!!! HAPPY BUILDING!!!

Not here to argue with anybody but the guy said money was tight sooooo...i said a nice 8 gauge would work!!!! No sh!t 2 or 4 awg would be better....... Anyways, AJG, you can find a switched 12volt power either from behind the radio(depends on vehicle year put i do believe the wire is red/w white stripe) or you can use a DMM to find a switched 12 at the fuse panel location......

im currently running two of these amps and the power is pretty good,. they pull alot of power though. These amps are rated using 14.4 not 17? the hk4000 MA Amp is rated at 17 volts not the hk802sx. The amp also does not put out real power at 4400watts rms...I AM AN IDIOT AND I CANNOT SPELL PROBABLY more like 3000watts with a good electrical system. But for the usual price on them its really not a bad amp.......

Yes it will work just fine.....less likely to flex since there is less wood there....but i always like to double the front face using two sheets of 3/4" MDF....never will flex, has more grip for the speakers screws.......but ill leave that up to you!!!!
