  1. Unfortunately I don't have any updates. Anytime its been warm enough to work on the truck I've been busy. I did get my copper in for my bus bars today though. Its supposed to get back in the 50's tomorrow so hopefully I find some time. I got the amp used from a dood on ca.com. Waiting on a design update from Chris and then hopefully the enclosure build will start moving along. I do too. I recently had a friend get in an accident and it got me to thinking about 3 80lb objects flying around my truck in an accident, so I got them mounted solid! Here is the copper that came in today. 1.5" x .375" drill/tapped every inch for 5/16 bolts, just gotta cut it in half and I'm set:
  2. No 50's in my future, my stuff is always quiet :/ Hopefully I will get some wire ran in the next few days. The weather is supposed to be nice so might have to take some time offa work to take advantage of it. Sucks that I can't fit the truck in the garage to work on it when its cold.
  3. Holy crap, thats alot of box! Should be fun with the SE's
  4. Go big on the box, you can always add wood/etc to the inside of the box to cut down on internal volume if you want to test what its like in less volume.
  5. Its knukonceptz fleks cable. With the live.com rebate gig goin on ebay right now its not too bad a price. Just picked some more up for 2.80/ft shipped. Basically the same as kicker hyperflex, big and flexible
  6. Right on, ended up running them inside the cab of the truck just to save on wire and to have the batts closer to the amp. If I ever decide to add more they will have to be in the bed of my truck. Hopefully the need for more current doesn't arise :/
  7. I wish I could say thats my skill but its a local 4x4/fab shop that built that frame in the back. I could have built it but it wouldn't have turned out anywhere near as nice. The frame is nice and square for boarding up and bolts into existing locations from the back seat so I didn't have to tear up the truck.
  8. Closing in on the 1200 tickets sold mark. Spread this around wherever you can where you think people might like to take part.
  9. Well the good news is the batts are in and mounted solid, the upper frame is done, unfortunately I over estimated my installed height of the batts though so now I'm going to have to do some changing on the box design. Nothing major just an inch here and there. I'm sure Chris and BJ are tired of me changing stuff by now Anyway here are some pics of the batts mounted down and where the amps are going to go (ab500.1 and kicker zx550.2). I need to make some mounting tabs for them but should be quick and easy. May leave the sides of the frame open for cooling or may board them up and run fans if necessary, not sure yet. Will also have to add a support brace in the middle of the top piece of the frame:
  10. Gotta love roads in the middle of nowhere for pic opportunities I do post on f150online. I actually put the Fisher/Sundown raffle for Kyle Hicks over there yesterday. I see you have a scion but if you post over there please feel free to bump that thread: http://www.f150online.com/forums/general-d...kyle-hicks.html And since you have a Xb here is a fun pic of my truck
  11. The enclosure is going over the batteries with the woofers firing up. The box is only 17.25" tall so it will still be well below the window line. It will all go in easy, how I make it look "pretty" will be another challenge...haha Never been a ford fan either but somehow my last two vehicles have been fords...my family has disowned me because of it
  12. Figured I would post this here too as I'm using a couple SSA vendor products. Bringing it back for the sealed guys. Might be a while to get this one finished up but hoping I can get it done in decent time. Going with 4 AA Havoc 15's in a sealed 10 cubic foot Fisher Customs box. Hopefully Chris or BJ can chime in with a sketchup of the box. Power will be from an American Bass 500.1 running at .5ohm. Electrical I am adding 3 powermaster d3100's, a second positive run of 1/0 and two negative 1/0 runs. Already have one run of positive, a yellowtop, and a 200amp meangreen alt installed. Frontstage (already installed) is some boston pro's on a kicker zx550.2 in sealed/damped/overkilled doors. Here is a pic of where the batteries will be going. Thursday the shop that built the existing metal frame for me is going to make some mounts to secure the d3100's in the frame. I have room to add a 4th battery but I don't think I will need it and 240lbs of battery is already enough weight added. And the amp And I have 4 of these waiting going in: And here's what its all going in:
  13. Great to see you guys doing this! I'll definately help out.
  14. Looks like these would be fun for a bunch-a-woofers sealed setup
  15. Hey all. Putting 3 d3100's in my setup and am thinking about putting them in a toolbox or sealed battery boxes under a tonneau cover in the back of my truck. How much impact will cold Colorado winters and hot summers (around 100 degrees) have on the performance of these batteries? My plans are to run a few runs of 1/0 up to some buss bars inside the cabin and then go from there to my amps. thoughts?
  16. Well gotta give props to summitracing. I decided I didn't want to run a bashed battery because they might be visable in my install. Called up summit and they filed a claim with ups and got a replacement battery on its way today no charge. Great service.
  17. Just goes to show whats intuitive isn't always what works...haha
  18. Looks more like a burn in person too...haha I was thinking just cosmetic as well. I could care less about looks, just wanted to be sure.
  19. I'm sure its not going to be a problem but wanted to check. My d3100's arrived from Summit today and one of them got the corner bashed in a little. Just curious how thick the plastic cases are on these. Here is a pic:
  20. Just because I enjoyed them the most doesn't mean I was satisfied Plus, I like to change stuff on a regular basis. Trying new stuff is part of the hobby.
  21. As soon as I figure out what the heck I'm doin I'll get some pics up. I have an american bass 500.1 that I'll be running at .5 on the havocs.
  22. My se15 setup sealed was loudest to the ear facing back in my truck Something like that would definately make the build easier. If it comes out anything like my SE's the upper end will be good, but the super low end will still be good for movies in the truck Actually gives me another idea, 2 up 2 back might be an option...hrmm so many options
  23. They don't have to be all up, figured all up would be louder, but if it comes down to it I can do two up two forward.
