  1. You read that on a audio forum but don't believe it, even sonic electronics will tell you they have no house brands, their just a whole sale house. According to there representative, there a new branch of either Maxxsonic or the company who makes PPI. I can't remember which one he said but it was one of the two. If I remember correctly Maxxsonic acquired the company who produces PPI but it's still sold under the original company's name what ever it is. Epsilon I think it was. And he also said they where a copy of either PPI or MBquart which is not terrible, there decent for there price range, they work at least but definitely nothing to write home about. I heard a wall of there 12's ran off the 1200's and I wasn't impressed. For the huge build it was it should have been far louder and hit way harder. It was a one note wonder and muddy at that. The highs and mods where decent they sounded ok and had plenty of output. To me is sounded like a wall of power acoustic. If he had a wall of SA12's and similar size Sundown amps it would be far superior in output and sound quality. And there in the same price range or very close.
  2. Yes I did ask about the synergy, and thanks for the input, I was just explaining to dick head that NVX is a rebadged turd like so many more and not the next big thing. And it's most definitely not a sonic house brand, it's being sold every where even flee markets lol.
  3. It's all ohms law. Amplifiers are almost always better off ran at a higher impedance for a lessor load, but running the lower ohm loads is where you run into problems. Normally higher impedance speakers sound better and have more fidelity then demanding lower impedance drivers. And it not just the amp or the speaker that gives you your sound it's the two working in unison. One amp over another can have a huge impact on bass response, presence, treble, dynamic range, and how loud it sounds. And with all these manufacturers inflating the specs you can never tell what exactly your getting, so I prefer to get the biggest amp I can afford, and adjust accordingly. My money is on the bigger amp will be better for his application.
  4. Yes I already said that. And I didn't say one amp would sound better, I said a bigger amp ran at a lower level, as in the gain turned down would sound better then a smaller amp ran at its max, as in the gain turned up past clipping causing distortion. I see that a lot, not everybody knows it's not a volume knob. But even if he knew and didn't run it into clipping, more power is almost always better. Double the wattage should give a little more output if nothing else, and that's what I was getting at.
  5. I actually meant I run my subs at a higher ohm load to put less stress on my amps, and electrical to achieve better sound quality, and reliability. But running a higher wattage amp at less then full tilt will still help achieve a better sound then a smaller amp at its max capability's. Sorry I should have said that in my original comment.
  6. Let me put a little perspective on this subject. Basically there are two ways audio products make it to the market. One is the higher end brands do R and D and build their own products or contract a build house to build their design. The other is a "company" based in a storage unit some where, will order any number of pre-built units, ranging from trash, to descent, and have their astetics added to them and market them as the next big thing. There are so so many rebranders it's hard to keep up with them all. Some are. NVX, Lanza, pile, PPI, Soundstream, legacy, boss, power aquastic, US amps, stinger, Hifonics, MBquart, crunch, autotech, power bass, viper, kole, pyramid, precision power, visonic, dual. And a couple of these company's will have upper level units built to spec but for the most part it's dog turds with a new name and look. Then you have the other company's who actually build, or have there designs built to spec. Some of these are (the Harmon group) JBL, Infinity, Harmon Kardon. Sundown, JL, Rockford fosgate, Phoenix gold, Macintosh, orion, air research, audison, hertz, DD, FI, Incriminator, nacamichia, Q logic, kicker, DC, and many more. And some of these may even have lower end rebranding themselves. Then you have around 200 Chinese, Korean, US, Tawain, Japanese, German, and Brazilian build houses, that either rebadge or build to spec. So forgive me if I can't remember every build house, every sub, and every board, but I know a rebadge when I see it and NVX is a little of both. The cheaper amps are rebadged PPI and a few more rebadged brands, and there higher end is rebadged Korean built.
  7. And Shawn never stops thinking his opinions are facts, and those are the so called facts I argue over.
  8. The 600 will work slightly better for your speakers, just because it will put out more clean RMS then the smaller amp. And it want be working as hard either. More power is always good. When I do sq style installs on my own cars, I always buy a amp around 2-3 times the recommended RMS and run it at a higher ohm load, turned down so I get as much clean un-clipped power as possible, without straining the amp. But either one will work fine I like the Orion stuff.
  9. Nope not even close. NVX is owned by Maxxsonic which produces Hifonics, MBquarts, PPI (current stuff), Polk, crunch, and a couple of other copy brands. It's low to mid level stuff built in China at best. They use the exact same internal components as the others with a different case. Some of the other brands rate lower or higher. Like the PPI 1000.1 is identical inside to the NVX1200.1 And of course there are Amp dyno results of them both doing slightly over what there rated for on you tube. Well the NVX at least like i said the PPI is rated at a 1000 but those Dino's apparently ain't right anyways. Or if they are there not consistent. I have seen several vids of the exact same amps doing numbers all over the place. I could see a small fluctuation from one amp to the next but not by how much there off. 500-1000watts on a 3500 I don't think so. About the only thing on sonic that isn't maxsonic is Alpine, Image dynamics, wet sounds, JL, kicker, JBL, DC, and Rockford. I think soundstream may be owned by them now but I'm not sure on them so I'm not gonna say one way or the other.
  10. Where your original off topic comments, that I commented on moved? He asked about NVX at sonic, and JBL, not SSA>everybody who doesn't pay you. Whoops SSA>all, my bad let the cat out of the bag.
  11. Yes I see it now I hit amps on the first page and it took me to the page that says coming soon. I tried the subs and it did work and it's a very nice layout with some really high quality picks. I really like the new look.
  12. If you want better sound go round like 51/4, 61/2, 63/4, as 6x9's aren't all that great even the better name brand stuff. If you notice all the high end SQ cars are running 6.5's and tweeters. Well actually there running 3 way active, like a tweeter, mid range, and mid bass round speakers. But I wouldnt suggest this for a daily driver as there hard to get right. I myself usually run 61/2 components in factory locations.
  13. And although SSA has excellent service, M5 has single handedly ruined this site. I honestly have no problem with you correcting wrong information, but you have made SSA a place only a pro can get anything, but a smart ass comment from yourself. I was always told there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers. So basically if you need anything, but a opinion on SSA>everything else, your screwed. And I understand if people don't want to answer the same questions over and over, but with the search button unable to find even the simlest of topics, what's a noob, or not a expert to do? Seriously, I have typed in simple things, like "US2000X" and it will say "there are no threads matching this topic. Then as soon as you ask anything your met with the same old "goals, JL or any thing not cheap sucks, and google is your friend, but we aren't."
  14. Yet again you do the very thing you falsely accuse me of "failed reading comprehension". If you could read what I said you would see I said "for my nephew" as in not me, and just in case you can't comprehend that, it's my sisters son. I had warned him, but he didn't listen and it lasted a while and they replaced it any ways. I was amazed I wouldn't have warrantied it. And also I never said I called sonic, again another fail, I said I have always got a answer from JL within 2-3 rings. But no doubt you will not be able to comprehend any of this and just twist my words to further your relentless harassment of me. And I also didn't rip off anyone I paid to have my Subs and amp installed by a JL dealer and of course they didn't even bother to set anything so with the cover on the amp I couldn't see the gain or bass boost and assumed they would have done it and burnt up a 13w7. Then after JL replacing it I thought surely when I pointed out their mistake they would surely set it this time, but nope and burnt W7 #2 up. After that I picked the 3rd sub up myself installed it, and set my own gains, and it's played to this day no problems what so ever. I also alerted JL to their reputable dealers failure to do anything but take my money and burn JL for nothing more then laziness. And I will never spend another sent with them. Now go ahead and twist my words to make me out the bad guy!
  15. Is it supposed to take you back to the same old site you have had for years when you click on amps, or subs? Or is it just not finished yet like you said, and will be the product page once it's finished?
  16. SSA> all? I wouldn't go that far. All though they do have excellent customer service, I would say more like SSA=very few>95% of others. Sonic warrantied a collososs amp ran at .25ohm for my nephew and JL replaced not one, but 2 burnt coils for me, free of charge which was obvious abuse. They have also answered every question I have ever asked, after 2-3 rings of a phone call. Does SSA have a phone?
  17. First of if you live in Michigan, the District of Columbia, or California they can not descriminate against you based on your weight. Also some city's have passed laws to banning the practice. I don't know all of them but I would check into that. Now if you have a medical condition causing you to be obese like diabetics, you would fall under the Americans with disibility's act. But if it's just poor diet and a seditary life stile and you don't live in one of these city's or states your stuck.
  18. And I myself have gained and lost hundreds of pounds over the years. I'm 6'4" 265 pounds but I have been as high as 315 and as low as 155 after a traumatic car accident. I myself wrestled, and played all 3 sports in school, and was very athletic until a few head injury's derailed my life. Whole Foods and cardio will be your best friend in your fight to shed the weight. I myself hate cardio, but it's a great way to slim down without gaining a lot of muscle mass. I myself like to use weights to workout, but I'm not trying to get smaller, just healthier and stronger. Funny thing is when I was joining the army the very place where they measure for BMI is where I carry the most fat on my body. My recruiter even called Meps and told them I was in incredible shape, and could pass the test to get out of boot camp already, but I carried all my fat where they measured, and my bmi was 1% to much, but it didn't really show my true health. Of course they said rules are rules and I would have to get it off, so I ran with the recruiters with garbage bags taped around my stomach and neck. I would come in from a 10 mile run and the bag would be full of sweat, and hanging to my nuts. Sorry for the long response and good luck in your fight bro.

  20. For the price, they do the job and are probably on par with the JBL GTO series. Flip a coin and I'm sure either one will be as good as any other entry level brand. Which just like JBL, they offer mid level stuff to, like the X series active speakers. If this sounds like what your looking for go for it, just don't expect them to pound like sundowns, or be as clear, and crisp as morel, or brax. And I gotta say sonic is probably the fastest internet brand I have ever dealt with, ordered my stuff and it was setting on my porch the very next morning, I was shocked it came that fast.
  21. You got some balls, I will give you that. How can you say a company like NVX ,which is owned by Maxxsonic, that also makes numerous other cheap copies like Hifonics, MBquart, and crunch makes better stuff then JL, or Harmon, which spend enough on RAndD to afford you. Your very tag is the definition of, paying for a premium product "M5". You saying NVX is better then JL is like saying a Camaro is better then a M5 cause it does the same thing cheaper, but leaving out the part where the M5 is a premium automobile with better build quality, reliability, more advanced tech, and so on. And just like the automotive word, car audio is vanity to, a lot of my toys are better, flashier, more expensive then yours. Basically your the very definition of a hypocrite. And what does is say about what you do if you get contracted by JL yet the same old ten year old design with NVX stamped on it is better.
  22. Dude it's a comment on a forum, fuck proper sentence structure. Hell it even says in the newbie thread, do your best where not writing books here. And the only reason you even said that is because I already told you what you would say so you where locked in to not using your same old shit. Apparently when all else fails revert to being a spelling nazi! Lol
  23. Oh, and you thread dump yourself, we where having a perfectly good discussion on how to gain DB's and here you come talking about blind AB testing of amps. So don't whine about me doing it, when you done it first. I can already tell you your response, I'm a kid, I'm a JL nuthugger, a thread dumper, and can't read. Basically I'm you, but not in denial, at least I admitted when I was wrong, and was new to forums, your supposed to be a tech guy, what's your excuse the rules don't apply to you? Now go ahead and CHANGE every FACT I just stated to fit your agenda!
  24. Apparently you have a reading problem as well, I never said, you said, JL sucks. You just gave me a hard time for owning JL, when you yourself own, and have owned JL. We call that something ,oh yea a hypocrite! Then you justified your nonsense by saying, "but I didn't buy new" and assuming I did. I actually paid way more for my Sundown stuff, then I did my JL stuff, so looks to me like you prefer to put words in my mouth, or flat out lie about me, to fit your agenda. And yes it cost more to design every sub, and amp different, and not just order up the same old 10 year old tech, and slap your name on it, and sell it directly to the customer. I guarantee the crossfire stuff is higher then the exact same SSA stuff, because it's not sold online. Middle man gotta make his money to. and those ain't even separately designed, there just off the shelf parts. You never hear anybody bitching about MMats, or Rockford fosgate being higher then these internet brands, but they are just as high as JL, or more. And the reason for that is because guys like M5, are paid to tout these internet brands as the next big thing, while bashing the brick and mortar company's cause they don't sell at internet prices. And I'm not defending one company or the other, I use some of all there stuff as long as it's a decent product that works. I just find it hilarious you give me such a hard time for using JL, when you got picks up of more JL then I own. Lol, and your best come back is always say I can't read, and call me a kid, motherpucker I'm 40, and you seem to be the one who's having trouble reading. Honestly you gotta come up with something better, you un original bastard.
