No sonic and ssa are probably the best 2 places you can deal with. My nephew wired a hifonics brz2400 down to a .25ohm and burnt it up and they shipped him a brand new one so I was impressed they would warranty something that had clearly been abused and fried like that. But they do sell refurbished items but they list them as so. Now if they have a product sent back that's not been used they may test it and if it's ok they might sell it but I doudt they would try to pass off a refurb as new. Just from my experience I would say your good to go no worries.

I wouldn't worry about them sending you the same tweeter back heck they only pay pennies on the dollar to build them they ain't worried about the cost. Didn't you say they where alpine s series alpine is usually a pretty reputable company now some of these smaller internet places are the ones you gotta watch. But if you got it at a dealer can't they just take care of it for you?

I have used car subs in the house. I put a set of cerwin vega 12's in 2 big boxes and they sounded great in the house. I also played my car system in the house in a sealed box and you couldn't even hear the W6's in the room but in the other end of the house it was shaking and rattling everything violently thought the dishes where gonna break. Lol

Yea tinnitus sucks I have it from years of construction, systems, and gun fire. Ain't a day goes by I don't hear ringing in my ears so best get used to it if your gonna play with systems all your life.

Why does M5 say the SMD dyno isn't accurate, just curious can someone explain this. The thing looks ok to me for judging one amp from another, or checking a amp after a re-wire, or upgrade. Not trying to start a argument or anything I just don't understand his logic behind this.

That would also be a good way to see if you have any frequency cancelation, which I doudt you do, but never hurts to check. If your loosing certain frequency's when both speakers are playing, you know you have a problem. Out of the probably 20+ systems I have had, I only ever noticed it once, and it was plain as day, one side sounded fine then sure enough as soon as I played both, I lost the higher frequency's. Little bit of time alignment took care of it.

Trust me man you ain't gonna get no help from Shawn. And have you checked all your head unit settings if so sounds like a bad speaker and or crossover. If their willing to send you a new one I would give that a go and if that doesn't help its one more thing you can rule out. Buying high dollar equipment to test cheap blown speakers ain't gonna help you.

What are you running in that M5 a house stereo? You got 5.1 Dolby surround in your Saab?

So you think your stereo sounds better out of phase with some of your speakers playing backwards. So would you really take a wall of subs and just have some pushing in and others pushing out at the same time. No wonder you think NVX is the stuff lol noob.

I know what phase is smartass I'm just saying in a car audio environment I don't see how running all your speakers out of phase is going to help anything. I'm almost positive he is getting no cancelation from speakers that are at different distances from his ears how could he.

Can't see how reversing the polarity and running the speaker backwards is gonna help the sound in a small car.

From searching for a crescendo amp. Found the store then noticed it had a forum.

Yea then it does sound like the amp though. I would try a tweet on your head unit and see if it still sounds bad if it does you know it's the tweeters and not the amp but honestly it sounds just like a cheap amp turned up to high. I hate that for you I know I always hate when I have system problems is so frustrating. Usually I have to just step back and think about the problem for a while then I can figure it out. Good luck.

Could the wires maybe be backwards on the crossover?

Honestly that just sounds like cheap amps with a huge noise floor. I some how doudt it's the alpine I have used their stuff for years and always got great sound from them. I did have one go bad after 11 years and about 4 vehicles but even it still played and sounded good all but the CD player that stopped reading disks which might have just been dirty from a decade of dusty mountain roads. I would try by passing those NVX amps and hook one directly to the head unit and see how it sounds.
