definitly, currently I have a 2.75 cube box after sub and port. So, stepping down to a box that is basically half the size 1.5 cubes and port to side can be done. If not I will go with a slot port box with the sub and port up like now. And then I will have enough room for a larger battery in rear.

Definitly not enough room for sub up port back, been there tried that. Gotta be a sub up port up slot port box or sub up port side box. So I should go 3/4 mdf with 1.5 mdf baffle brace and one 4" aeroport to the side or even a slot port box and tuned to 35hz to be in between what everyone writes? Correct?

So I should have a decent street bass/ spl box with a single 4 inch aeroport tuned to 33-34hz and 1.5 cubes? Box will be made with 1" mdf and top plate 2". Sub up and port out the side.

What is the normal db range at a show for what I have and what class would I even be in, with what I have? I extra battery two runs of 4 guage big 3 done in 4 guage one 1500 sundown and a nightshade12?

That would be great for now. Then maybe next year I can run two 12" nightshades and two 1500's but for now I am going to be cool with one 1500 and a single 12. Especially if I get over 140.

I am going to go with a single 4" aero and see what I do. Any rough estimates on db's?

See I don't know what I need. If the one guy used a 1.5 cube box, then I will switch to a smaller box. And since yes it is going into a xB the loss of weight and gain of space will be greatly appreciated. I just want a great street bass box, that is more on the spl side of the spectrum. I wanna make a nasty bass box of an xb. Currently I am ok in sound and for me I want to see if I can get a little louder. So, if I switch to a nightshade and slam it with a sundown 1500. I should be good. So whatever, help I can get I am doing. I already learned about the Big 3. So I did, that this weekend. And I used to do local shows with my old cars. So I know that everylittle bit helps. So I am wanting to do everything I can to get louder.

So I should run about 1.5 cubes and 33 or 34 hz? If I run aeroports how many, what size and how long would they be?

So two of these would work great under the rear seat of a explorer sportrac, correct. Running off a 125.2, with subs facing forward.

I really love my sundown 1500d, and really thinking hardcore about changing sub to a nightshade.

Ok answering questions asked to me. Dynamat has been applied as follows 5 layers on whole floor, 7 layers in all 4 doors, 8 layers on rear hatch door. Also, two full cans of expanding foam applied to rear hatch door. I know some of this may be overkill, however, I it is a pet peev of mine to hear a car sound like a tin can after it drive's by. Box was made by a carpenter, so very well built. I got spec's from sub paperwork, and then cross referenced that with Digital Designs specs. Just because I wanted to lean more towards street bass. So, I went with a 40 hz tuning frequency. Box is made out of 3/4 inch mdf, except for top plate. Top plate holds sub and port, so I went with two layers of 3/4 inch mdf. Box is also held together with a little over 200 screws. It is a slot ported box however, all the port edges were rounded off, to help prevent any hiss from port. Lastly, battery issue. I currently have stock battery under hood, which I know I have to change, as soon as I can. Then, I have a kinetik hc800 in back.

More for street beat, however, I will be competing some next year. I know I am getting 0 guage wire for xmas. So, I am changing all wire to 0 guage. Also, going to do the big 3 this weekend. Speaker cable to sub will also be upgraded to 10 maybe 8 guage. But, as you know every little bit helps. In comp's that is.

My buddy has a Ford Explorer Sporttrac. You know the pickup, with quad cab. What can I put in it for a system? I was thinking a single Soundsplinter RL i8 single 4 and a sundown 1000. Sub and port fire forward at feet of rear passengers. Any other suggestions?

Ok, I have a Sundown Audio 1500d and a Massive Audio DMX 12 with quad 1's. The box is as follows 2.5 cubes tuned to 40 hz, both sub and port fire up. This is in a 06 Scion xB. Here's my questions? 1) Would it be louder if I went with sub up port back? 2) Other then big 3 what else will get me more db's? I am really thinking of changing to a nightshade 12. Thank you in advance for replies. Also, wanted to throw out this, ever since I got my Sundown Amp all my buddies are slowly switching to sundown. Great amps.
