  1. I'd be interested as well
  2. lol, yes i do need bracing... either way we didnt't have time to brace!!! i'm gonna plug the port next week and see how i like the sound... if i like it then i might throw the RL-peezies in a sealed box and brace the ported one while it's out of the car (and my ears can recuperate)
  3. but hey in all honesty, who's going to deny ever having turned up the volume a bit in a parking structure or something and "accidentally" setting off an alarm or two
  4. my 3/4" mdf flexes w/ two of these biches
  5. response in those two cars should be pretty similar. the sentra is obviously smaller and has a tad more SPL potential, but when it really comes down to it, those 4th gen max's are great for systems. i would have to say it might be an issue w/ your amp because sealed rl-p's still pound and sound sexy... i don't mean to offend you w/ your shoe tying abilities but your subs are both d2 correct?

    ghetto 2" ports at that
  7. thats quite strange because my friend's sealed 12" rl-p is about dead even w/ his brother 12w7 (also sealed w/ a bigger box) in terms of output but it takes the cake in SQ... my first question is, what kind of cars do you two have?
  8. spend a little more and get an rl-p
  9. its loud.....very loud. These are very comparable to the W6's ..in fact so close if i didn't know they were RL-p's, i could not tell the difference.....except these get louder than the JL's. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i agree i have a friend who's running a single sealed rl-p 12" off 600W and stock h/u...and it absolutely pWnt his younger brother's sealed 12W7. I for one was pleasantly surprised. The W7 is only seeing 550watts but still... SS ftw!!
  10. geez... that's not excessive does it own your brother's system now or what?
  11. My old US Amps had a sperate remote turn on plug so you could hook up 2 extra remote turn ons. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ^ wtf? i know the new mtx amps don't need a remote turn on lead...but theyre fugly

does that mean they can't get loud?
  13. ^^^ LOL ^^^ i'll never forget it either, the only time in my life i've ever had to take the 2 freeway anywhere WHEN will SS expand their product lineup (components *cough*)??
  14. omg yes... when the previous punch line came out, i thought i had lost all faith in RF...
  15. the mag might even replace your AVA
  16. well so do i...i've never owned a hifonics (nor will i ever own anything maxxsonics for that matter).. but i clearly remember CA.com being crazy for the bx1500d... that and the tantrum (but this one's justified)
  17. i remember like it was yesterday when the bx1500d was a forum boner
  18. L7s tuned low arent bad
  19. i'd go L7s but that's cuz i'm biased against RE
  20. having no 8v h/u's to druel over isn't a big deal to me. what's more upsetting is seeing so many of the other big name companies like alpine and pioneer not even using 4V preouts on many/most of their products. to me 4V is the minimum i'd work with
  21. well porting one and giving it the same amount of power as you have going to the pair (i know, you'll need a different VC config) should give you higher numbers in certain frequencies, even in a musical box, not just a fartbox
  22. rl-p's move more air
  23. well i never understood why people throw so much power to them anyways. my two get absurdly loud w/ 500W apiece. i tried out a single rl-p sealed in my car, also off 500w...and it got so dang loud for just one 12"... it moved plenty, i don't really see any benefit in doubling it's power... if i had a 15" i dont think i'd give it any more than 1kW (if that...)
