  1. I need 2 inlin's on the same power wire? Or are you saying an inline to it then another when I branch it off to power the amps.
  2. I wouldn't mind getting one and trying them out. Just to play around with some setups.
  3. ComPression Drivers? Any advice on these Rick... I mean Jim I would love to get him something that is detailed and realistic and loud haha. He makes alot of his own music, So I think this would be a great way to go. Could you go active with these? I have been doing a little research and I would like to go active one of these days.
  4. I was gonna ground the back battery with the 0 gauge when I ran them parallel, I see what you mean now though! I will take care of that today. Thanks for the advice, almost missed that
  5. I think that is what he is going for, He is wanting to slowly turn his van into his own little work of art lolz. Are there any that are loud and sound smooth, I always thought that it was one or the other. I know there is probably a way to get some great sounding tweeters that will also be loud as hell. But isn't that usually the toss up?
  6. and u might want to do a ground for the batt up front It is grounded
  7. We were trying to find the best place to run the wire, so we took off the windshield wiper and cover to see if we could get anything through there. We ended up having to take the battery and tray out, then we could see where the main wire run was. That is a pic of the windshield where the cover was, I wi[ped it down before I reinstalled it I didn't see your question about the kickers untill now. They were some kicker 1000's I got them from a buddy out in Bloomingdale. They were pretty nice And Yes I will be running the other batt in the back. I am actually going to be doing all that stuff today, so I will get some more pics up later. I wish my HU was in, but it wont be here untill the 28-29th. I am going Downtown with some old friends from J-Ville Halloween and I really want to have the HU in by then haha!
  8. Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone has had expierience with these tweeters. My cous wanted to get some of these or the "horns" To play around with. Anyone had expierience with the horns? I have never heard a tweeter horn. He has, that is why he wantes some to play around with in his van. I dunno though, any thought on these?
  9. Again, I just stated some solders don't hold up thermally, and I came on here to double check about the battery. I'm sure you never once asked anyone that before you did it the first time. I have put circuit boards together before, but I know nothing about solder. I have seen solder melt off of circuit boards from to much "continious" amp/current draw, so please don't think you are "educating" me about solder. I have see batteries melt of batterie post when they vent. (Not the post that comes with the batterie) thought I would clarify it but I'm sure you knew what I meant from that. You and the fanboy = Joke. Believe me I don't know or claim to know nearly as much about car audio as you, never said I did. That is why I ask to double check about things on here. From now on I will look somewhere else for Car audio advice, I'm glad you "hook up battery terminals at work" sounds fullfilling. Maybe oneday I can aspire to do something that rewarding for a living.
  10. Listen "Bud" I Have seen this happen many times in other applications, mainly when batteries "Vent". So why don't you "Read" my post before you are proven wrong. I love the ignorance of some people. Josh
  11. Hi FC, Just wondering about getting an enclosure and a cut out sheet for another one from you. I send an email to you from the site a couple days ago and have not heard anything. I know you guys are probably quite busy, I just wanted to make sure that you got my email. Hope it was ok to post this here. If not I am sorry. I would love to get an enclosure done by FC and it would be a tricky task. That is why I am not gonna attemp the big one. Thx Josh~
  12. Whip out a calculator boy! $360 for 6 and $480 for 8. I did that in my head, cause I passed 4th grade. Have you also been a douche since 4th grade? haha yea I didn't really see the price thing I was in a hurry earlier. What is a calculator anyway? Don't take this seriously dur.
  13. Jacob, could you price 6 and 8 of these and send it to my email. [email protected] Also when is this presale ending? Josh
  14. Oh, I don't think pissed would be the word.
  15. Awesome, and ConGraTZ!! Way to not only take the W but also rep Sundown =)
  16. Yea, those are the ones ... I could only imagine how much one for those large batts are.
  17. I know, it's a joke how much they charge now adays... I mean at the most the MDF woulda been around 75 dollars with some leftover. My friend gets people from school and his work so we can make boxes for them, We charge 100 dollars, all the materials needed costs at the most 35 dollars... MDF I think 8'x4' sheet of wood costs only 24 dollars. FYI Yea, the Mdf is 24-26 a sheet for 3/4" I mad a box for 2 10's... and I still had a good lil bit left. My box for my 15's will be around 75 though. It's crazy how much they charge for the cheap things.
  18. I've got a battery zapper at the house, it's for small cells though.
  19. Can't hold up to some temps though, and make sure you use resin core.. I use nothing but rosin core solder and I've never had any issues. You'd literally have to get hotter than a torch to loosen it up. I have used solder for many things, including car applications and yes you would have to get prtty high thermally, I have seen it happen many times in many applications. I just don't trust solder itself. Crimped + Solder would work very well And depending on the solder it would not have to get nearly as hot as a torch... solders have melting points from 200-840 F ... but again this is all based on the type of solder.
  20. Yea I used some old vice grips to do mine, work ok just get the 1 side down first then tight it a little at a time. Top, side, top, side, works ok.
  21. Can't hold up to some temps though, and make sure you use resin core..
  22. Yea I would think once you start doing it for a check it becomes work, I always like to help people with anything for no charge, but if I had to do it daily I think I would get pretty burnt out.
  23. How would I find out if I have a Unibody car? Can I look at it and tell or do I need to dig up some info on it?
