  1. Nothing particularly wrong with using a bridged 2-channel for subs, but most of the time it's not for very power-hungry applications. Definitely not for one BTL, never mind two
  2. Your story is a lot like mine, although I'm 22 and my dad's albums have "become" mine and I play them on my system now SQ competitors are a different breed than the typical basshead; I don't compete either but I enjoy listening to how people have things set up when they care about the entire spectrum Not just "hearing the words over the bass"
  3. Totally depends on the organization...
  4. It's decent...you could do a lot worse. I'm not a big fan of most receivers in general when compared to separates, but that's just me
  5. Are you concerned about your reading on a sensor or is this just for you?

    Who knows. If a K-car can run 10's, I guess anything's possible

Fixed it. I forgot how much I hate IE.

Well, this is some shit. Why won't IE load my page when FF will I know IE6 handles frames.
  9. Ah, OK. Been through there a few times. There's a bunch of us right down 81 from you

For public trackers, mininova.org and The Pirate Bay seem to be two big ones. TPB even has had some stuff that the private ones don't have, but most of the time it's a crapshoot. I can send you an invite to STmusic.org, I think What and Waffles are both closed now...
  11. There's some more of us in the Communistwealth Where are you?

Florists generally are in a pissy mood around now, I could have told you that

  15. Shiva-X's would also do very well. But until there's a budget here we could throw out recommendations from $100 to $1300 all day long.

    Meh.

Hmm, to go to class, or not...we're not going to be doing anything useful, and I'm the only one out of my group that's actually done anything so far...
  18. If SPL is what a sub is for, why are you running them sealed?
  19. Ah, that's not bad, I was thinking it was in real-time or something and we'd have news popping up every minute or so.
  20. Nice, what are you working on? Another setup I can't afford There's a ton on Ebay, the problem with pro amps is that you might need to modify or replace a fan to quiet it down, but that's pretty well documented usually...

    So true...

Part of me wants to do something stupid & impractical with the van when it stops being just transportation... Not the van version, but that's a '60s Econoline
  23. Although, if this is going to be permanent, the "Recent Threads" should be expanded, because the news feeds are going to knock the regular threads off of it.
