  1. Search on Ebay? And if you're looking for a bass guitar stack, tubes > all
  2. Meh. Considering QSC gear can be found in great used shape for not much more, it's not that great of a deal...
  3. Actually cheap for RCAs, relatively speaking :

If this is the same commercial I'm thinking about, it's racist. There are no white people in it... It's one of the ones I'm thinking about. Hyundai got on the bandwagon too, and another I can't remember right now...

I have a feeling I'll be writing in a choice next year. Because there's really no one I agree with.
  6. Because you need something to act as a crossover...with an active setup, it's on the low-level side of things, i.e, before the final power amplification - with passive crossovers, it's on the high-level side...after the amp(s).
  7. Once you get to a certain price point, there's really no great benefits for going more expensive...
  8. I don't see why they would be a problem...

Random thought of the night...why do car commercials suddenly need to have a bunch of idiots standing around the car singing? Seems to be a trend now...I don't get it.

Sounds like it needs more hardener. Lend her some.
  11. I can't stand the song how it's originally mixed, I doubt making it sound worse would change my mind

Rat shack , and stage sound carry it sometimes. Just have to look and see . You want maroon grill cloth ? Yep. Probably...six-ish yards of it.
  13. ...car? I hope you've got something bigger than a car for these

Ramos, do you know any other places than PE that stocks grill cloth? I'm thinking about redoing the Maggies in maroon

Box sets are better to have in vinyl anyway, more room for things.

I still want to find a setup that makes the difference between FLAC and originals obvious Won't find one, FLAC is lossless, same as the CD. My point exactly

Should have told us, unless you wanted the actual hard copies...many of us have the set on .FLAC
  19. I don't like them.

Nope, but you can buy in-line filters like Harrison Labs FMODs if you need one and your amp doesn't have one.
  21. Welcome, this is a very different place...

The one problem I see with PA-type designs is that they're big. Hoffman's Iron Law, sure, but we're like a Mongolian horde that descends on a town and packs up just as quickly. If it was me, a loud set of three-way bookshelf monitors would be the perfect dorm speakers, as well as being apartment party 'peekas. Maybe something along the lines of a Klipsch Heresy with better crossovers and without the squeaky Tractrix midrange horn. But the Heresy does what every college student wants...
