14v / 15v / 16v
Why not simply run a separate electrical system for high-voltage loads? Run an alternator capable of being regulated up to 18V or whatever you want to use, and keep it totally isolated from the vehicle's 12VDC system...very straightforward.

The idea of a CA.com meet kind of scares me, in all honesty. There are a lot of people on there I definitely don't want to meet, even be in the same state as.

you should be a hacker like me and hack the system. all the pron i can get on dish If I didn't live in an apartment, sure...I've got a 7' dish and mount left over from some amateur radio projects I tried sitting in my parent's basement, one of these days I'll put it to some use when I have the land to put it up...

But, something like the Klipsch Cornwall has a 15" mid, 18" passive radiator and doesn't need a sub for even really bass-heavy music. Little bit more effficient than a Dayton Reference though Off to go bitch at Comcast for my cable not working...

I think a 12" midbass is going to need some monstrous inductors in order to get the Xover point low enough for it...

Unless you tune somewhere in the infrasound range, I doubt it...

New Computer!
I know... I can't help it. I was into computers ALOT before the stereo bug bit me in high school... otherwise I'd probably be a full time computer geek now rather than an audio geek The last time I really kept up with the pace of computers, you were doing something if you had RAM chips with IC's on both sides I remember feeling bad when processors like the Pentium MMX were out in the 150-200MHz range...because my 75MHz tower wasn't top of the heap anymore. That's what I like about technology that's been obsolete for 20, 30, 40 years - nobody's coming out with a record that spins faster

Even with the forum discount, the stuff found on Ebay is a better deal...and if the consistency's close to what Ramos got for last weekend...it's the real deal.

Dorm Setup (Revisited)
The little black box with the analog meters in the center is an AudioSource Seven T-amp...to be honest I wasn't impressed at all. Just didn't sound...right, too harsh.

If you want a whizzerless, high efficiency solution, the Fostex Sigmas are the way to go, though with that Adcom you'll send them to the moon if you aren't careful.
