Some questions on the Icon 12
Another driver to consider with that depth consideration would be a Rainbow Vanadium, decently shallow motor design and extremely good low end extension sealed.

People with more torrent knowledge than I... What's an acceptable number of hashfails for a torrent? uTorrent seems to automatically kick off IP's that send bad data, and re-downloads the piece...so there's no loss of information?

At $550 per I don't think you'd have a problem selling them to the magic CD marker and cable stands crowd

So, um, can I get a couple for my amps & TT? Couple of those with big brass spikes would make awesome monoblock stands. Then all I'd need is power and interconnect cables the size of garden hoses and my audiophool e-penis would be _______________________ that big. *snooze*

Which one?
If you're kind of pressed for money, that rules out the BTL as a viable option, and personally I wouldn't use that amp with anything.

RL-i8s in ported box
If you have that caliber of equipment, IMO you'd be insane to go ported and introduce a peak in the middle of the passband. Given proper tuning, that'd be one hell of a setup.

Your opinions...
Flexibility. It's just a night and day difference in terms of how you can adjust things, to get the drivers working together properly. You could get the same results with a passive, but by the time you've spent the money on swapping out components and testing, you could have bought several 880's. $700 is a tight budget...

Either them or Goodmans.

I'd like some Tannoy gear They have some really, really nice sounding high efficiency coaxials...or "dual concentric" in Tannoyspeak.

The older ones are higher quality than the new ones. I'd avoid the new ones.

Welcome to the IHoP
Any full range/BiB potential? Full range, I would highly doubt it. A two or three-way in a horn setup might be an idea, would depend on the Qts of course...

Your opinions...
The Pio 880 will do all the Xover stuff you need. You could go with a 5-channel amp, yeah...but those are harder to find and usually more expensive. But if you can find a deal on a good one go for it. What's your budget for amps? That'll pretty much determine where to look...

Then again, casting with anything less than 12 feet feels weird to me

Welcome to SSA by the way, thanks for not posting another "y0 i wanna bump loud yo" thread

Your opinions...
Audiocontrol, Coustic, and a bunch of other manufacturers make suitable 2-way crossovers. I'm not sure if that head unit has active capability or not, you might consider just swapping that for a unit that has the Xovers built in, instead of adding a seperate one. That's just a personal choice, whatever's easier to adjust to you... You'd have to add another amp for the sub, you'd need a four channel and a mono or something bridgeable to mono...if budget's an issue, I'd look for quality used gear.

Your opinions...
Not a fan of the amp, I'd find a used vintage model from a quality manufacturer well before I went with Crunch... The speakers themselves aren't bad, but I'd skip the passive crossover and go active. There's no way a fixed 3k crossover is going to be optimal for every install, active bi-amping is the only way to go IMO if you're piecing together drivers in a vehicle. What do you have for a head unit?
