  1. 2V preouts in and of themselves aren't bad, if you don't have noise problems going from 2V to 8V won't be a big improvement. I think a lot of people get high-preout voltage boners for no reason. Not only would the Alpine/H701 combo be active capable, it'd give you more flexibilily than you can imagine right now I don't know if the Pio/Eclipse models offer that kind of crossover flexibility.
  2. Repost, and I'm starting to think Pimpedout97x is trying to one-up this..

ok. so what's the difference in A and C weighting? and exactly what does it mean to have an A weighted measurement? is it in the fact the A rating is for higher freq compared to a C rated one being for lower octaves? or am i way wrong? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Google would help you with that. I can't remember what it is off the top of my head.
  4. 1. Do you know you have an inducted noise issue in your install that higher voltage preouts fixed? 2. You could always get a line driver in that case...
  5. Personally, I like Alpine screens, but for the sole reason of being able to control the H701.
  6. I'm going to be in the same situation in a couple months for a 750GB drive...it seems as you go up the models the WD's get horrendously loud, and the bigger Seagates have reliability issues

    Could be better...
  9. Parts Express sells Dayton ones up to 15", and Madisound & Solen sells Seas ones (though I think Seas stops at 8" or 10", IIRC).

Yeah at least one more . And if your up to it , it's actually better to lay more than one layer at a time . The extra layers help build up and retain heat, which aids in curing Extra heat helps the burgers, too...
  17. That's what we've been telling you on this forum...and yes, it's true.
  18. What are you driving that that much weight is causing problems?
  19. If he's relying solely on a box building program like BBP6, I wouldn't trust that he really knows what he's doing in the first place.

  21. 1) Inductance is in millihenries, not MHz 2) You don't need any of those specifications to build an enclosure.
  22. Small and "cute" enclosures aren't very conducive to solid midbass. Get ready for larger enclosures...
  23. A higher Qts driver is going to be able to make bass with very large or IB enclosures, a driver with a very small Qts (below .3 or so) is going to require a ported or something more extensive enclosure. No problem
