Best Components Under $800
For the amps, I'd probably choose Option B... As for the drivers themselves, I'd check out the driver reviews on http://www.zaphaudio.com. Most of them can be found at http://www.madisound.com.

Damping factor, especially with solid state amps, is an almost meaningless spec. The output impedance is low enough for it to not really matter.

The main page has the top 20 posters overall, top 20 per day, etc... Beyond that I really don't care.

Nah, we didn't take pics of that...and it comes out looking like a mottled brown, pretty boring.

I don't think I've ever showed pics of my parent's place on here...mostly because it reminds me how ideal it is for a stereo and how sucky my apartment is for one

To some degree, yes...but they're infinitely more adjustable to your individual setup needs. With a passive set, if the chosen crossover point or slope isn't the best for your situation, well, you're SOL unless you can model up a new crossover design and rebuild it. Not exactly the quickest solution... If you've got that kind of money to spend on a front stage, why not make the most of it

Sealing concrete was probably worse though, I'm pretty sure that took off a few years somewhere...when you have a liquid that turns lime green and starts bubbling on concrete, I'm sure it can't be good for you... Leaves a nice finished product though...

I remember painting our basement with waterproofer a couple years ago, during the summer...with no A/C. That was a hellish job. Went through five gallon buckets of the stuff like it was going out of style.

Looking for strobes......
Unless you're actually entered in a car show, a strobe in a parking lot at night is second up to a flashing blue light in terms of saying OVER HERE, COME MAKE YOUR QUOTA

For that price, I wouldn't even bother with passives. $800 would buy you the finest in individual drivers, you could just buy a four channel Zed amp (and yes, they are good ) and use an outboard crossover instead of passive networks. Dynamat Extreme is a good product, but competitors like Second Skin and RAAMmat have opened up the market a lot...

How fast are you talking about? A lot of fast strobe stuff is out there for use with high-speed cameras. It goes without saying that if you use it on or anywhere near a public roadway, pretty much expect a ticket...

sundowns 1500 vs kicker 1500
I've stopped caring enough about the setup in the van to change anything right now

sundowns 1500 vs kicker 1500
For the price, I think the Memphis MYSNC's are probably one of the better component sets for the money. Certainly better than anything CDT that's comparable in price. Of course, if I were to do it over again I'd forget about passive and just go active with better drivers.

MTX 8500
As it should be, no sub should be playing above 80Hz anyway...

A question asked all too much.....
Only difference between those two would be the impedance...

louder?
It's a fair bet that anything in the Fi product line will outperform your old woofers.

do you know when
That depends a lot on the person listening...and saying something is the "best" is usually setting yourself up to be proven wrong
