Especially if you have the balance set to compensate for speaker placement..."Hmm, was that five clicks to the right or four on the left channel?" Give me a stereo volume knob and balance control any day. And a remote is more than welcome

Was on my list of things to do before Tom got here, just didn't have time beforehand. Should be the finishing touch on the rack Preamp order went out today...MF.com order going out sometime this week.

Perhaps, perhaps not...depends on what the tuning frequency is I know if I got another driver and sealed it, my SPL score would go up dramatically...in part because I wouldn't have the nasty impedance rise I get now

You can run a sub-$200 deck, and run an outboard processor in the future to give you the flexibility of a higher-end one. A 7 or 10 band parametric EQ would be plenty, and it could be bypassed for SPL runs. Webster used to do this with an Alpine 9807 (IIRC), and a Memphis EQ...worked perfectly.
