An Answer to RE's price hikes:
Yup...and like any business, they're in it to make a profit. They'll lose business from this, but I guarantee they'll make a boatload of extra profit from it - because like I said on SIN, there's always going to be a market of people out there that will pay regardless of the cost - they just have to have the latest and the greatest. It's worked for SVS, Eclipse, hell, even the Kicker SoloX is over a grand retail. They basically dumped the entire DIY crowd, but I don't think they'll be financially hurting from this decision. Not at all.

voltage
Sounds like your alternator's regulator is on the way out, and you should get the problem looked at immediately before your vehicle's electronics start to fry. 12-14VDC electronics don't take kindly to voltages that high on a daily basis.

Now because I feel guilty that I've slacked off since 8AM this morning, I need to go to campus and study until the end of time, or tomorrow...whatever comes first.

Nice units... Although if I was going to get a Pio to play with, I'd try to find a deal on an ODR combo

rl-p
I am just curious. But what type of enclosure was the mag in and what type of enclosure was the Rl-p that you heard in? Also, what version of the mag was it and what amps were used? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i tested the new mag 15 in 2.5 ported tuned to 34 hz off an orion 2500d @ 1 ohm and 4 ohm the rl-p 12 i own is currently in 2.5ft^3 tuned to 28hz off that same orion at 4 ohm. it's been in 1.25ft sealed, 1 ft sealed, 2 ft ported @ 34hz and it's current box. it's been powered by as little as 750 wrms and as much as 2500. the mag was a lowend monster, as is the rl-p. bieng smaller, the rl-p carried the higher freqs better, but hte magnum is a real sub, no doubt! either is a great choice. both willdo well ported OR sealed, you just have to build the proper enclosure. aaron, specs lend itself to what? real world application is all that matters. if specs is all that matters then we'd be breaking 200db legal with all the physics geeks running around. but what's on paper amounts to squat for the most part when you get in vehicle. the rl-p is more then capable in a sealed box. lends itself to ported? wtf? i don't care what brand it is..the specs get you pointed, building gets you there. trial and error makes it perfect. sorry if i'm snappy...but here lately all i hear about this and that is paper this, specs that. we are trying to hard to read too much into what's on paper and not what happens in car/truck. hell, if paper was that accurate, then sony would hold records too. jsut my .02 cents. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 34Hz has a nasty LF rolloff, IME

Basically what my Forte II's are...three way, HLCD's for midrange and highs, forward firing bass driver and rear-mounted PR. Even off 8 watts per side they kick...

I'm seriously debating getting semi-crunk tonight...because I have tomorrow completely off before exams. But I need to put at least a couple hours of studying in before that, so I don't feel guilty with myself for doing nothing today...

The amps are up and running, but in typical SET fashion they're ultra-bitchy with what type of source you use. And the NAD really isn't a dedicated preamp, so when I get the ARC LS-1 on them, things should improve drastically.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk I = teh n00bx 500V @ 35mA across your fingers is a good reminder of why you should always unplug amplifiers that have almost half a farad of capacitance per channel before swapping tubes.
