    Really, none at all - just drilling a few cutouts in the cabinet, doing some simple soldering...I'm just the picture of teh laziness, and I'd rather order everything from the same place at once. I've got an old UPS that I might just cannibalize for the enclosure, it's already got an SPST switch and quad outlet mounted...i'll just take out the battery float charger and gel cell battery and install the AC filters.

    Bring an o-scope and look at the input, and look at the output I'm just not going to pay $200 or whatever Monster wants for one when I can get something industrial surplus for cheap.

    My buddy has a few old Mercs...used to have a 240D, that car was a beast Wiring that thing for an Alpine head unit was fun, it still had the '70s vintage "shaft style" receiver in it.

  16. Solid-state amps, you mean Valve equipment most certainly does have a break-in time, but it's the filaments and internal structures themselves that change...not the other circuit components.

    Sounds like what I did with Chem. Definitely not a good idea, took my lab grade from a B+ to a C. I really don't know how I managed to pull the GPA I did, thought I was going to do far, far worse. Still pretty pissed off about it though.

  21. Unless you're running electrostats like Maggies, you don't need over 25-35 wpc. Having very efficient speakers is a good thing.

  23. I would I'm thinking what a 12-15 driver in such a horn would do in my vehicle off a kW...and it scares me. But it's something to think about for the future
