  1. FWIW, I've heard both in the same setup, preferred the Mag...

Could someone move this out of the Fi section?

I really, really, really, really don't want to drive back to NC tonight but I'm going to have to.

Even when I asked the most n00bish of questions, I didn't expect an answer in five minutes and got cranky when nobody responded That's independent of how much someone knows or not
  5. What other brands? Pyramid? Pyle? That's about all that's left under those

I'm fully expecting someone to go on there and ask for instructions on how to wipe their ass, or ask how much Fi charges to do it.

Eh, but not at the cost of other things for example, I'd take a separates system with individual monoblocks over a single integrated stereo amp given the room and budget to do it, even though there might be more connections involved. Personal choice, or if you have specific room issues you want to address...
  11. Great that people have all that time on their hands to put that all together Funny how there's usually a lot of gaping holes... I don't know enough about Mayan archeology to address those claims, but I did notice that sunspot numbers were mentioned as part of a "Great Cycle" or whatever. That's pretty funny, considering the last cycle (which peaked in 2000-2001) was one of the weakest in recent years, and we haven't gotten back to the kind of numbers seen in the 1950's. And I hardly think a couple hundred years of observations is enough to say conclusively there's any kind of pattern in the data greater than the 11-year period we already observe. And that comet you mention passed us in the '90s, it won't be back for at least a hundred years (and no comet is the size of Jupiter, Jupiter did get hit by one, remember)
  12. Nothing wrong with them in anything other than power "stiffening"

I like it, although it does take some getting used at first.
  14. Really hard to say. I'd say the Magnum handles smaller enclosures a little more readily than the Icon does, but given enough space or an IB setup, it's right up there Honestly, if you're looking to get the biggest improvements I'd worry less about the subwoofer, ditch the 6x9's and work on the front stage
  15. If you want the best midbass response possible, and it's not an extremely high-end luxury vehicle with a lot of deadening already installed, you're going to have to, I'm afraid. But it's well worth it

I love blockquotes He says a lot's been replaced in the last 1000mi, runs smooth, but is asking $1850 Which seems really steep for a Honda built in 1973, no matter what the condition is...I've got $900 free and clear right now, $1200 seems like a doable offer in a couple weeks.$1850 is a bit steep. he's banking on people wanting the better fuel mileage. $1200 sounds like a good offer, but $900 is roughly half his asking, and that's where i always start. good luck with that jim, that is a good bike to start on. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I'm going tomorrow to check out an '81 CB750 custom that the owner is willing to come down to my price...I guess I'll hear it first-hand to see how it runs (owner says it runs very well, and from the pictures I've seen does look extremely clean), but are there any tips for looking one over to be more sure of what I'm getting? Any places they like to leak, etc...where there are no fairings I'd imagine it's pretty hard or impossible to tell if it's ever been dropped over... Thanks for the input so far. It's been a big help to kinda know I'm on the right track here

Likewise, the only downside from it is when Dave habitually changes my sig and profile info every couple weeks or so, I don't know about it until someone tells me
  23. I think you're falling into the "more power is better" trap, and it's causing you to think you need to spend a lot more money than is really required...

I've been with Sprint for a while now, even though where I'm at when I'm in NC doesn't get digital coverage and I have to drive 10 miles before I can check my voicemail. Verizon disgusts me more than even Sprint does and I'm not sure T-Mobile's coverage is any better out here...
