suggestions on single 12 setup
The reason I recommended it is because I used to have one...used it for about six months with my e12a.22 before going to the PG T1200.1. A nice little amp, the only thing I didn't like about it was the inflexibility in ohm loads - it was only stable down to a 4 ohm mono load. Never gave me a hint of problems in the time I had it, though.

an Avionixx 800.2 would go nicely with the dual 2 ohm version of the RL-p... just IMO.

"Regular" vs. ribbon tweets
Should be on the site, if I'm not mistaken? I don't know the specific ones they use...

suggestions on single 12 setup
I've got a ported box tuned to 27Hz, and I can't really tell any loss in transient response, but maybe your ears respond differently to some things than mine do. Are you sure of that enclosure tuning? 30Hz should have a lot of SQ, maybe there was a miscalculation in the port system...

suggestions on single 12 setup
Would probably have to talk to Mike...1.2kW would be the most I'd run to it, but I'm sure there are people going higher that are careful. For a single 12 setup, I would run a low tuned ported enclosure anyway.

Question...
i'm 19...and i'm on my first...had it for around three years now. 94 Ford Econoline E-150 cargo van probably going to keep it until it dies, or 200K miles...whatever comes first. I'm at 135K on the original engine now, so it's looking good. Next vehicle I get is probably going to be a mid '70s Toyota FJ40 or similar 4x4. I miss driving a manual, and I miss being offroad...

for a TC9 based driver like the RL-p, I wouldn't go over a kilowatt in a ported box... Give it the recommended box size for a ported enclosure, and order the dual 4 ohm model to wire it to a 2 ohm combined load to the amplifier.- "Regular" vs. ribbon tweets
I don't think I need to worry about overpowering, not at 2 watts RMS per channel There's no extra crossovers or filtering in this circuit, the woofers are rolled off naturally, and there's just a single cap to the tweets.- "Regular" vs. ribbon tweets
actual technical question follows ---> Basically as the title says...I've decided on an 5.25" or 6.5" MTM design that works for my app, but I've got a choice of ribbon or regular tweets. The ribbon kit is double the price of the normal one at $550...I've never owned a speaker using ribbon tweets, so I don't know if they'd be worth the price increase. FYI, the speakers I'm looking at can be found at http://www.parkeraudio.net. 95dB/W or 98dB/W at a stable 2 ohm load. Thanks. :musik05:- How did you guys find SSA???
And I've made more posts in two days than you've made in one year? What have you been doing all this time? wait...scratch that.- Recent Happenings

- pg tantrum 1200.1
The Tantrum isn't one ohm stable...it will do 1400+ watts from 2 to 4 ohms, but not below. Whether that makes it a cheater amp or not I don't know, because I don't compete- Reasons for a bigger box?
ow...my eyes hurt after that- new amp for my xxx 12" on $350 limit
My vote would go to the Tantrum as well, if you can find them nicely used somewhere- Welcome to the IHoP
like i said on ca.com... old, but still extremely hilarious wooo wooooooooooooooooo only in da mornin- Best SQ and SPL tracks
CSN's "Long Time Gone" and "Wooden Ships" also have quite a bit of sub-bass info...- iPod Shuffle
I have too much music for that...maybe I could get one for each genre? Very neat idea though. Anyone know any good Ipod substitutes for those of us that don't want to pay for the name?- Most members online !!!!!!
