Any updates on the new shipment?

I think I'm going to pick up a pair of rl-p 12's in about a week or so now. How's the rl-p 12 dual 4 ohm stock? When does the new shipment of logoless 12's come in assuming they will be logoless? I cant really decide whether or not I want a logo. lol. The logoless is so damn sexy, but then again it kind of needs a logo or does it?

i was hoping for an update to the rl-p 12's, although they already seem pretty awesome. oh well, good to hear about the 15's though. At least now I guess I dont have to wait for any updated 12's to come.

My buddy has a set of the edis. They are getting replaced if that tells you anything. Nothing spectacular in my eyes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Were they lacking in a particular area or was the sq just not quite there?

the price is really low because I just need to sell them, not trying to make a profit <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hmmm, Im going to try and find a shop around here that has those wired up in a showroom so I can at least get an idea of what they sound like.

Has anyone here heard the edi 6500's? How about cdt hd's? Both seem to have gotten pretty good reviews and I really like the package deal on the edi's and nine.2. Plus the nine.2 will match my nine.1. Has anyone else heard the orion p6.2s? For the price they dont seem like they would be as good as the ed's or the cdt's, but then again they could just be a better deal.

I am looking into getting a new set of components and was wondering what all of you guys like. I am currently trying to decide between edi 6500's, jl XR's and diamond hex s600s, but Im up for any other suggestions. I have a budget of about 450 for speakers and an amp to power them. BTW, I prefer more of the smooth sound of a soft dome tweeter, but when i heard the aluminum dome jl I actually didnt mind it all. Thanks in advance. Eric

IS that the 15" one he was selling a little while back? If I am thinking of the right one it sunds like it was quite a sub. I remember him saying that he swapped it in for a brahma once on a meter and only lost 2 db however he thought it sounded louder than the brahma. If thats the one you got, congratulations.

I am curious how the 2 would fare as well. It sounds like a lot of people over on icixsound seem to like the new ov.2's better than than the old A series.

It should have slightly more spl because of the additional cone area of 2 subs and the fact that you could send them twice as much power. you are not getting any more sq by adding a 2nd sub. The sq of the w6v2 is amazing. I cant comment on the sq of the rl-i because I have never heard them, but seeing as how much i like the sq of the w6v2 I doubt the rl-i would be better especially considering the price. SQ is fairly subjective though and I really doubt you will be disappointed with the rl-i's. A nine.1 should be perfect for these subs, however, I dont know if you would want to get the single 4 ohm or dual 4 ohm rl-1. With the single 4 ohm subs and a nine.1 each would see about 500w each which should be perfect. I think you could get the d4 subs and send each 750w each, but that is probably pushing it. If you don;t know what you are doing you would probably damage something seeing as how that is more than double the rms.

Do you mean the ed nine.2 for the jl? A nine.1 even at 2 ohms would be well over twice the recommended rms for that sub, which i definitely would not recommend doing. Now that I think about it I dont think the nine.2 would work with the w6 either though seeing as how it does full power @ 4 ohm and the w6 is a dual 4 ohm. Asuming you meant the nine.1 though for the rl-i's you could either get the svc 4 ohms and wire two of them to 2 ohms and then see about 1000w from a nine.1 or get the d4 ohm and wire them to 1 ohm and see close to 1500w out of the nine.1. Either way, the rl-i's would be seeing about 2-3 times as much power as a single 12 which would make up for the 12 being ported. Just a genral rule whihc is not always true, but porting should add about 3 db all around and doubling the power should add about 3db. then you factor in the extra cone area of the 10s and I think that ultimately the 10's would be slightly louder and look a hell of a lot better in that fiberglass enclosure you are talking about.

My friend is running 3 of the 12" evolution series pbx subs in a sealed enclosure off of a mtx 1500. I personally, think his setup is a little disappointing. It sounds pretty decent, but when you really crank it up it just isnt what you would expect it to be. On the other hand. another friend of mine is running 3 pbx xtreme 15's in a custom fiberglass sealed enclosure with a 1000w or 1500w amp each and those are f**kin insane. They play sooo low and shake the ground and every car around him when hes really got them turned up.

Anyone know where I can get bassbox? i have been looking for a decent box design program and this is the only one I have even heard of yet i cant find it anywhere.

These things are awesome. I dont think i really have any use for them, but if I ever need an 8 Im sure Ill pick up a couple of these. The magnet on this thing looks massive compared to that small cone.

Hey! I am new to this forum obviously. i came across it through soundsplinter's webpage. I am somewhat of a newbie to car audio. I just got into it about 2 months ago, but I have learned a ton since then. I'm currently running a pair of diamond m6 mkII 10's off a NINe.1 @ 1 ohm in a sealed box. They have awesome sq but they are lacking a little in the spl so I think I am going to upgrade to 2 rl-p 12's or a jl13w7. I probably should just build a ported box first but I found someone that wants to buy my subs for only 50 less than I paid for them. Besides, I really like the idea of being able to to play your subs loud then still have the ability to crank them up even more when you want to impress someone. Not to mention not having to worry about pushing them too hard, etc. With my current setup I have to be careful not too push the subs too hard. Also, a normal listening level for me is about 90% of the subs potential.
