  1. Is it possible that a Maxx-Link can cause you not to gain any tenths on the meter at all? I have tinkered with mine for quite a while and we just haven't had any positive results. Any special tricks to adjusting it?
  2. Until Jake comes out with some Sundown mid's and high's, I have a suggestion. I and a couple of people around the Wilmington area have been running Diamond audio's D6 series mid-range and tweeters. I have stuck anywhere between 50 to 200 watts per channel to them and they seem to just scream for more. Very little if any distortion can be heard and they come with some nice customized cross-overs. They are an aluminum tweeter and a very nice, smooth mid-woofer. RMS is 100 watts and 200 peak. They are a little pricey (between $250.00 and 400.00) but I have yet to see or hear about anyone blowing the woofer or the tweeter. A friend of mine whom I will keep his name private, has completely abused his pair and they are still kicking. I have two pairs of the over-sized 6 and a half's and one pair of the 6 and a half D3 coax for my rear fill and I love them.
  3. No, thank you Scottie B!
  4. Kicker makes some great products, I used to run some of them in the early 90's and they still make great stuff today. On the other hand I have a friend here in Wilmington N.C. who has been competing longer than I have and he had two of the 18" Solo X's with two Sundown 3000D amplifiers on each and he ended up blowing several of them on daily driving. He had 7+ batcap batteries and two alt's so he was getting good voltage. I personally would stay with the sub you have (it also sound cleaner and can get really loud).
  5. Hey, just wanted Team Sundown to know that The crowd at the XSPL Show with Drop Jaw Magazine in Kinston N.C. was off the hook! There were so many women, ooops I mean people that it really made it for a great time! I gave so many demos, I thought I was DJ just for a minute. I took home a 2nd place trophy for sealed on the dash or kick (160.1) and a 2nd place for Hardcore in the port (167.3) on the AC Meter. I also set new records for SUV 2000+ watts (sealed up and hardcore). Jacob, the new subs are louder! If I could ever figure out that Maxxlink.....
  6. Aw yall talk'in bout little ole me...Seriously Jacob is completely right. The sub's like and excel in a smaller box. I would like to try an even smaller box with what I have now. 4 cubes per sub is right on the money and it will still sound decent.
  7. For sure, strap em'.
