Is anyone here still into those referral sites? ie. freeipods.com, etc...some of them will give you like $600 PayPal payments if you get 8 people to sign up, etc... anyway, I started doing some of them again, just wondering if any of you guys want to earn a few bucks helping me out.... If this seems "spammish", just ignore it, I'm not trying to force this on anyone, but for those of you who could use some extra money, without really making much effort or spending much time, and without really losing anything trying them out......let me know if any of y'all are interested.

Sign up for the 60-day free trial. Even when it ends, you still retain a .mac ID, and you *technically* should still be able to have a group. I maintain a .mac groups site for my local Mac User Group, but we only have about 25 active members on it. Honestly though, I don't see the point of creating these off-site groups, as they are pretty much forums on their own, which I believe will end up dividing the core group...and if you use email notifications (like I do) you don't need to even join those other groups. Not to mention, if the administrator wants to put advertising on this here forum, its diverting traffic away from the site. Although, on the other hand, I can see that for people who do not know about this forum, it might bring some expsure. I'm just sort of torn between these two viewpoints. Anyway.... Don't take this the wrong way, but I think your efforts are better focused into something else, maybe some new layouts or hacks. Don't fix what ain't broke.

Those sites you mentioned are some great resources, I always commend the folks who do pre-purchase homework. Archiving is a long, labourious task, I commend you for taking it on though.

Creative owns E-Mu, so you just bought yourself another soundblaster.... he he. The M-Audio stuff is really quite nice, a lot of lower-budget (home) studios are using that stuff. If you are a Mac guy, Apple Lossless is also another great choice. FLAC is really the format of choice, but it isnt as widely used, nor is it easy to play back (CPU intensive) which is why most players don't play it!

Definitely some good stuff. I want to get some more of the techno/trance/house sort of stuff. But it needs to have a fast beat - 'Seeminlgy Sleepy' is about the slowest I could ever deal with. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I reccomend anything on the Om Records label. Also, Ian Pooley puts out some nice funky house compilations. Dennis, do I get credit for turning you on to that style, or did you find it on your own??
