Do you mean khaotic enclosures? They are a part of SSA, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Andrew from Argent Audio has access to a CNC machine and gets everything cut to spec and built for them. The thing that makes them aimed towards a specific driver is the volume, tuning is setup for daily (~33hz). So if you have another driver that needs xx amount of volume and a khaotic enclosure is close to that volume requirement then your good P.S. Are the boxes designed around SSA subs or just general volume and tuning designs for most subs? I wonder because I have a prefabbed sealed enclosure from a local place that is 1.1cf and I want to get rid of it.

I use an Arc Audio KS1000.1 and it sounds great. If you look into upgrading your amp one of those could be a consideration.

After some deliberation I decided on the ssa sub. I can't wait to get it installed and listen to it. I'll post a pic of it when it comes in.

Is there an adapter so I can use the factory XM antenna in the 2009 Accord with an aftermarket headunit and it's XM module? I have the Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD head unit and am getting http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ite/GEX-P920XM. I just want to avoid having to run a new antenna.

Okay thanks for the info guys. I'm expecting all this junk in my signature next week and needed to get caught up on whats what electrically. Never hooked up a DVD player much less into a newer car with a factory amp.

Is that for motorized antennas or is it necessary to power the antenna on?

x2. Check your ssf and gain on your amplifier. Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll lock in an icon this week. The gain was maybe at 1/4 at the most. I was only doing 800w @ 4 ohm. The sub should have been fine. I heard he changed out the voice coils and other parts from members at diymobile when I did the research.

I got shafted by robotunderground with a dank adire audio brahma 12". It died after about 6 months of use running it on an Arc Audio 1000.1, 800w @ 4ohms. I researched about his frankenstein subs after the fact unfortunately. So to the point at hand, I haven't really kept up with what current drivers are out there and what is quality since I would say 2007 or 2008 when I got a Fi BTL 15". I've been looking at their 12" BL, RE SXX 12" and the SSA ICON 12". With all the objectivity you have, can you say I'm making a sound decision picking up the ICON? I keep hearing when US Amps bought out RE, their product quality diminished. I loved the Fi sub I had, so I poked around the lineup there. I like the specs on the ICON. They seem to suite what I want to come from a sub. I guess I'm just asking for that extra push to go ahead with the purchase. If it helps, I'm looking for a nice mix of spl and ""SQL"", but leaning more on the ""SQL"" these days. I still enjoy a loud driver, but I have developed the desire for a clean, precise sound. I don't want to replace my amp so the sub needs to able to handle the arc audio ks1000.1 I'm using.

Was wondering when Fi will have them posted here. Also, does anyone have any for 1 15" BTL @ about 3.5cf with a slot port?

I joined here this past February, but never really posted or visited much. I'm back to read up on what is new, as I am going through a change in my subwoofer and sub amp.
