The PDX-5 is making about 100x4 + 400x1 on the birth sheets i've seen so i'd try to get at least 600-750w on the sub channel to make it worthwhile.

Whats the weight for both drivers?

Putting together a little system for my new car, i picked up the jbl gto601.1 amp(580x1@2ohm) and i would like a pair of D2 or S4 Assassin 10's if possible or would i be better off just going with a single Arsenal 12 or 15?

sounds like you want SPL to me.

check out ID's charger install with 10's in the rear deck.

It really came down to personal preference, not brand loyalty since i've had ascendant and ID subs in the past. For me the higher xmax, woven leads, and rubber surround were the deciding factors.

well i got a good price on the new IDQ's so i'm getting a pair of the 10's. Just waiting on a ship date from Arc on the amp.

Current stuff is on the way out, heres what i have so far: Eclipse AVN 2210p double din cd/nav unit Alpine Type X SPX17-REF 6.5" components (07 model) DLS A5 amp (for sale, will be replaced with Arc KS900.6) Components will be bi-amped, channels 5&6 will be bridged at 1ohm for sub which should be ~550-600w. I'm leaning to a pair of new Assassin 10's ported in a console box but may get a pair of the 12's in a more conventional arrangement behind the seat. Truck is an 07 Ram reg cab so i have plenty of room, budget is $250.

I was able to cancel the other sub, once i get my money back i will do 2 10's ported in a downfiring console with the port possibly coming out in a L shape and exiting towards the drivers corner. Thoughts?

DLS is likely not going in and one of the new Arc KS900.6 will go in its place. that drops sub power to about 600w @1ohm but gives me 4 channels to bi-amp my new type x components. i've got a new sub from Treo on the way i want to try but if it doesn't work out the pair of 10's will likely go in.

I'm revamping my entire setup in my truck, 2007 Ram reg. cab. i've got a DLS A5 amp coming for power which is about 750w @1ohm. The 2 10's would be in a ported downfiring box between the front seats and going all the way to the back wall. The 2 12's would be mounted traditionally behind the seat facing forward, how much airspace would each setup need?

too many new subs to try, so little money to spend. i am glad to see some guys getting back to efficient subs though. keep up the good work!!

Personally i'd go with either a 15" Q or AA Havoc, or maybe a pair of SSD's with the copper coil option.

not trying to send business elsewhere because i fully support jacob and sundown but you guys looking for a 5 channel should check out the Power 1000 at cardomain for $599 shipped. i've got mine on the way.

SSD copper coil is still up there on my list to try.
