Exactly. A computer for EFI is about all a car really needs. Maybe ABS too

Personally, I really dislike driving my mother's 5-series. It just feels sooo... wrong. I don't know how similar a M3 would feel, but make sure you test drive first. I don't dislike driving my 5 series. If you drive an M3 you will probably want one, beware. I'm sure you're 5 feels totally different. It isn't completely bastardized with computers controlling your every move.
