  1. Agreed, I thought about this the other day when I was looking for a new lanyard. Come on scotty boy, please?
  2. Ah squeak thank you so much for answering those questions. So to seal it off I'm going to need a good amount of expanding foam right? I'm going to secure the bottom plate to the trunk floor with L brackets. I just know its going to be very difficult actually assembling the box inside the trunk and gluing each piece to the bottom plate and then waiting for it to dry. What should I spray on the inside of the box to make sure the box is sealed?
  3. I have a ton of questions coming, I need them answered so I can get my bass back! So today I decided I'm going to make a new box for the SSD. Current box is 3.5cuft @33hz 40sqin of port, sub is firing UP and port is firing towards the back of the car. New box, 5cuft@30hz 78sqin of port sub AND port firing towards the cabin it should be tons louder without all the trunk rattle. (I know this is a little much for the ssd but a btl is going in place of it in the next month or two.) In order for this box to fit in my car we have to build it inside the trunk, I already tore out the back seats and had to take a grinder to the metal behind the seat. The seats are going back in they are not staying out.. About 50-75sqft of deadening is going in at the end of the week, components and 2 channel amp will be here then also. Also took out the 6.5's Now onto the questions What exactly is "sealing off the trunk" how do I accomplish this and what will I gain and lose from it? Can I screw down the bottom plate of my box to the trunk floor so the box doesn't move around? Or is there a better way? Will my ssd be louder and lower in the new box until I get the btl? Whats the best way to go about assembling a box in a trunk.. Back plate first then side plates then front plate? I'm not going to be able to get screws in the sides of the box so I will have to rely on the glue to hold?
  4. The 15 SSD is amazing, performs like a $500 woofer for half the price Def go with knuconceptz for wiring their stuff is great. Amp choices look good, sundown is top of the line Second skin is the best deadening from what I have heard Good components would have to be chosen by you, due to what YOU like to hear rather than other people You can get a kinetik2400 or you can get a deka intimidator I heard they are good for the money
  5. Ah that is so true.. Alright then the rears are gone!
  6. Okay help me out here. Ditch the back speakers or no? What are the best sounding comps I can get for under $150?
  7. The only other thing I could think of is to line where the trunk opens with some kind of adhesive foam...
  8. Building a new box would help, and its what I'm doing very soon. I have to cut the trunk lid supports but I will be able to fire sub and port towards the cabin hopefully resulting in less trunk slapping.
  9. But I will only need a 2 channel amp if I just run comps and get rid of the back speakers right? And how would I get a 2 ohm load out of the amp?
  10. Dude I have the same problem. I have a 15" SSD firing up towards my trunk lid and my trunk slaps so hard. Until I can get some deadening in there and find something to stop the lid from slapping the frame I have to deal with it.
  11. I was thinking any amp I could get that puts out 75-100rms a channel. Would the comp set pull a 4 ohm load or a 2 ohm load from the amp? I was looking at the kicker 5 1/4" component set, only $99 here My link And then RF has a decent looking comp set too, My link
  12. I'm ordering comps for my front stage along with a amp, not sure what I should be looking at for quality though. If I put comps up front can I keep my 6.5 coax in the back and just run a 4 channel amp to the 6.5's and the fronts? Would that sound right? Trying to keep it under 250 for comps and amp
  13. I'm guessing that's what you go through? I would look super cool stopping at a red light with my system going and ear plugs in my ears
  14. I have no idea how loud my system is but I'm wondering at how many db's do your ears start to feel discomfort? It only happens when I have it going full tilt but my eardrums start to tickle and they hurt a little bit on the lower frequencies (30-35hz) I almost never feel it but anytime I have a friend riding with me they complain about their ears nonstop but I almost never feel it? I'm guessing when I get the saz-3500 and whatever sub its going to be very hard to sit in my car?
  15. The reason allot of people know about funky pups is because of the customer reviews some people would leave on the funky pup site. And the fact that they sold funky pups in packs of 6 was pretty funny.
  16. Post a picture! I'm curious to see what it looks like with "The hott set-up" on the front of it. Maybe its a funky pup
  17. I'm planning on putting 3k on a nightshade. Hopefully it lasts
  18. Thanks for putting it back up in the shop. You should be shipping one out to northwest Florida in the near future.
  19. I figure I could get it at db-r But they will take more than 1500rms daily right?
  20. There are no 18 nightshade's in the shop
  21. ohhhhhhh realllyyyyyyyyyyy??? :bigclap: I think I found my sub.
  22. Would 4.5cuft be choking it? edit: i might just go with 3000 then
  23. Still tossing around ideas on the new setup... Any 18's out there that can take 3500 daily and sound good in around 4-5cuft?
  24. Wow.. I think not only would you have hearing problems but the people next to you at the red-light would too. Anyways, DO ITTTTTTTTT
