  1. Are those the 7" seas that are in your sig? How do they sound IB like that? I'm thinking about doing that with my rear Tang Bands and Sundown E8s. My front set will be E8's in the doors and tang bands and tweets in kickpods, sealed.
  2. I'm only 42 so I still got a few years left H'mmm, 42 and I'm installing 4200 watts into my car, thats almost poetic.
  3. Talk about having some junk in the trunk, dang !!!
  4. Ok, now I feel old, my brother and I listened to The Outlaws hahahaha
  5. I was just having that very thought about the Nightshades 2 days ago hehehehe
  6. You reminded me of my last system many years ago with 4 M&M Godfather 15's and a Linear Power 3002 at 2ohms stereo so about 150 watts per woofer. One morning I got into the car and turned it on and forgot I had Rush - Tom Sawyer in the CD Player at about 3/4 volume. It about made me chit my pants so I know what you mean about "impact"
  7. Thanks for all the compliments !! Its very reassuring to say the least.
  8. I started on the sub enclosure today. I only had a couple of hours to work on it so I got the bottom and back done. My other new saw. My work area with my dirty ass car in the background. Man I need to wash and wax that thing. The sun was really beating down today, freaking 85 degrees today. It was hard to get a good picture since the birch was really reflecting the light. Thats probably going to be it until Monday. My daughters 4th birthday is tomorrow and I have stuff to do all weekend, so I'll get back on it after the weekend.
  9. And its not true wattage. It puts out MORE !!!
  10. Yea, only 2 reasons I wanted it was 1: Time delay is supposed to be easier to setup with the C701, and 2: Bling Bling, love the display !!
  11. Hey, thanks for the vote of confidence. I gotta say i had butterflies when I started cutting since I have not done it in so long, but after I got started, I got that "now this is fun" feeling back.
  12. Its time to finally install all the goodies I have purchased before I got laid off. Alpine IVA-W505 Headunit Alpine PXA-H701 Processor Alpine RUX-C701 Controller for PXA-H701 3x Sundown SAX-100.4D for Highs, Mids and Midbass 1x Sundown SAZ-3000D 4x SEAS Prestige 27TFFNC/G (H1396) 1" Textile Dome Tweeters 4x Tang Band W6-1721 6-1/2" Underhung Midbass Drivers (Midrange) 4x Sundown E8 Woofers for Midbass 2x Sundown Custom 15D1 Nightshades with Copper Coils DC Power Inc 250amp alternator w/Switchable MLA Module - already installed. I started with the power backbone. I installed a DC Power 250amp alternator and switchable MLA module. Kinetik HC1800 Under the hood, Big 3 with Knukonceptz Kolossus Fleks Kable 1/0. After this pic was taken, I cleaned it up a little more by removing that little piece of grey 1/0 and connecting the stock ground wire to chassis where the battery is grounded. It looks nicer now. Positive wire from the alternator going to battery positive (blue wire) The substage will be 2 custom Nightshade 15's. These are the copper coil Nightshades Jacob was testing with. Subs will be firing foward through the rear seat, ports will be up through the deck and I will seal off the trunk. The old torsion bars must go as they will be in the way. I installed a pair of StrongArm 4518 Universal 14.50" Ext. 100# Lift Supports. Making room for the box with my new toy. The upper corners and a little off the top is what I'm removing. The reciprocating saw goes through this like butter. Taking a break. Now thats better.
  13. That is a good problem, right? In this economy, thats a damn good problem!!! If I find a job before the end of the month, I might get one !!
  14. Are you thinking of something like this: 1/0 to 4 gauge reducer
  15. So, whatever you have CH 1+2 crossed over at, that is what you will see on the outputs? Just want to make sure for my own good :-)
  16. Great EQ, just have fun finding one.
  17. On Precision Ports website, their instructions link states that their 6" Precision Port can be 1" from the inside wall, but they recommend keeping it as far away as possible. Myself, I would try to keep it at least 3 to 6" away from it, but I'm no expert. I'm sure someone with more port experience will chime in.
  18. I can only comment on the customer service at www.dcpowerinc.com. Its pretty much like dealing with Jacob at Sundown. Rob is the owner and you can talk to him directly at the number on their website. He talked me through a couple of problems I was having installing my MLA module I bought with my 250a alt while he was driving his kids home from school, now thats customer service !!! I have no experience with the other vendors so I can't comment on their service. but you won't be sorry with DC Power.

I hope you fair better than I did. At least my severance is good, but I need to find something before it runs out.
  20. I'm soldering all my ring terminals on, them babys aren't coming off !!! Just go to home depot, get a bernzomatic torch with the thin flame and some solder. I hold the cable with some vice grips (not too tight) and just fit the terminal on the wire. Hit the back of the ring with the torch and once it heats up good, just start feeding the solder into the wire until it fills up.
  21. The build I'm working on will be active all around. I'm using the crossovers on my SAX-100.4s.
  22. I finally got my DC Power Inc 250amp alternator and switchable MLA module installed. I now have 250amps (140 at idle) available at 15.6 volts sweeeeeeet. I just have to clean up the wires and I'll start a build log with pics. Now I need to run power wires to the trunk and start building the enclosure and kicks.
  23. Sundown Warranty In the stipulations, it says: 1) If your amplifier has a blown power supply or damage from excessive vibration there will be a charge for a warranty replacement within the 2-year policy: * SAZ-1500D and smaller amplifiers (or any future model under 2000 watts) - $30 in the continental USA (AK and HI add $15) * SAZ-2000D and SAZ-3000D (or any future model 2000 - 3000 watts) - $50 in the continental USA (AK and HI add $20) Basically, if you blow the powersupply due to .5ohm usage, its gonna cost you 50 bucks to get it fixed. Keep your electrical up and you'll be ok. You won't blow the PS unless your voltage gets too low.
