  1. I have one run of 4g to my 730wrms amp, with big three done in 4g, but I'm still dimming really badly. im almost positive its my batt, but i haven't tested my alt yet.. anyway, which of these batteries should i get (to replace stock batt): kinetik hc 1400 - ah:60 amps: 1500 kinetik hc 800 -- ah:36 amps: 950 or something else that will hopefully solve my dimming problem? i dont know much about batts, any advice would really be appreciated. thanks to all.
  2. i have stock electrical, just one 4 gauge run to my alpine pdx 1.600 amp (600rms, 730 peak), but my gauges/instruments dim down to about 50% and my headlights dim terribly. will the big three in 1/0 or 2 gauge solve this problem? i have a 2003 vw passat, im pretty sure my alt does 90 amps..
  3. just curious....... and I have in fact seen the 60" one that apparently does 1,000,000 watts. Im talking about practical subs
  4. i have a 2.3 cube ported box made of one layer of 3/4 mdf. it has no leaks, but i notice that the box vibrates a fair amount. would it make sense to dynamat the inside? or would this kill my sq?
  5. so yeah, if this is a really stupid idea, ill prob put some bolts through my box for terminals, what type of finish should they be? zinc, stainless? anybody have a pic of theirs? thanks
  6. I just made a ported box, and the recessed terminal cup i bought at my local shop looks pretty hard to install - the back of it is a rounded rectange. is it ok to just drill a small hole for my speaker wire in the back of the box and fill it with silicon caulk? im worried this will just make it leak terribly...
  7. ...when every test you finish early has drawings of bp boxes and isobaric designs on it ...when you have tell your dad that his 50G audi s4's premium sound system sucks (Bose obviously) ...when you pass up the opportunity to drive said car to listen to your system ...when every time your friends come over you end up fixing their wiring ...when your facebook status has been "Rob is BUMPING" for two years ...when you spend your lunch period and a half bumping in the parking lot with the only other ssa member in the high school ...when your AP Physics class took a field trip to the parking lot when studying harmonics to check out your ported box...
  8. how do i model a sub? do you mean with software? and how will i find an impedance curve?
  9. yeah, im looking at it right now... while im definitely looking for spl, i want to make sure im not sacrificing too much sq. the 15" ssd and 15" type r cost just about the same, does anyone have an idea which would have better sq?
  10. as stated, I'm between these two subs. the r is rated @ 750 rms, and the bl is 1000 rms + whatever the flatwind coil and cooling adds. I'd love to get the bl15 cause I hear it absolutely pounds, but I'm scared my amp wont do it justice. Whats my best option? im open to any brand/size of subs too, looking to spend up to $275-300 thanks
  11. i have to say its quite impressive to see videos of a fi 12 dislodging a rear-view mirror
  12. hey everyone. i've been doing a lot of research lately regarding my next sub, and it seems like every forum i read points to fi. I have only 730 watts to work with, can someone point me in the right direction? I was originally thinking about a bl15, but it seems like I'm severely lacking in the power department... thanks
  13. i've seen fi come up in almost every car audio forum i've ever read
