Addictive Audio
Yes when I read the list of prices I felt like I puked then swallowed it, especially for the ratings damn. Hopefully for you your prices are actually WAY lower then these, if they are I'd DEF. post those instead, just my two cents. edit: Not trying to be a jerk about it but you got to remember your posting this on a site where a person can get an under rated Sundown 3500d for the price you have a 2000w amp listed. stiff competition

New England SPL Competitions
Ya def. some drama/excitement/stress for most improved stock, good thing I got something up my sleeve. Would of done it for run 3 but I "him haw'd" too long and runs ended before I got the subs bolted back in, doh! Just glad I asked Steve if he was done before I started putting the bolts back in. I only need to be 6/10ths higher then I am ATM, if my amps can handle the load it will be easy, but thats a big IF! I have increased SPL 11 events in a row, but I really need to continue the streak one more event to get 'er done. 12 is my magic number and the pressure is on. Thanks for the congrats and well done to my whole club on improving so much over the season. Motor Jam was a blast with some great competition, 39 SPL entrants 20 or more over 140 db and 5 or more in the 150's. Can't wait for Chicopee, see you all there.

New England SPL Competitions
I was checking mapquest and it's telling me to go 495 to 290 to 395, but on other forums they are saying straight down 95s is best. Is this because they are heading down from MA, obv. farther south then me or is mapquest being retarded as it so often is?

New England SPL Competitions
Right on, I look forward to meeting you. People living in the North East should compete in NESPL imo, it has by far the most events and is run by a guy who really cares about his competetors. Add to that alot of nice people that are passionate about SPL and at almost every competition and you'll absolutely enjoy the league. I moved down to Miami for a year but came back to be close to my family as well. One more day till Motor Jam woot woot, PLEASE NO RAIN! I need to certify a score!!

best head unit for spl
Sure Soundstream makes head units, and as far as their demo vehicle are you sure it was a demo car and not a competition sponsored vehicle? Their competition cars are only required to use Soundstream subs, sub amps and components. For example: I'm on team Soundstream and run a Kenwood Excelon deck.

Subs that hit your chest.
You didn't get an answer cuz its impossible to answer with so many unknowns, as Oldsckool asked/said the vehicle has alot to do with it, not to mention enclosure. Just listing off the measurements don't mean much either, how it was built on the other hand would help. Its also a little subjective as what I consider chest pounding would make some others vomit, and there are those that laugh at my chest pounding know what I mean?

soundstream xxx
Would you say I should give up on "breaking them in"? The best I will be giving them is 3000wrms (and some change maybe) on burps. Oh and they are in a 6 cubes net for now, in a few months I'll be putting them in 9 cubes net.

I haven't seen the 18's but I just installed 2 15's in my car yesterday. I have alot of tweaking to do but my initial thoughts are my ears hurt. I only have 2200w to each for daily but they aren't moving to much but seems loud without turning the volume up. I had a very hard time moving the cone at all with my bare hand. The pain in my back today says they are beastly. After I get them broken in and do some tests I'll make up a review of how they perform so far so good tho.

What Id need to know about comps
X2 on what they said. Also e sure to check the rules for what kind of music and what format the musics on. Some organizations place the mic at different spots so check that out cuz it makes a difference how you set up your subs/enclosure ect. There are several posts/threads on here with some tips for getting loud on a mic. There's some from shizzzon and me to name a few. After you pick the organization you'll be able to get alot more specific answers ot tips on pulling a good score. Usually for competition higher tuning affects the mic more then say a 30 herts tuning, but you'd have to test alot to find out what freq. suites your needs of course. Song selection can make a big difference too, pick the total wrong song and your score can drop bad. This just barely scratches the surface, when I wake up more I'll be able to be more helpful. Oh and they sound fun cuz they are a blast! Not to mention very addictive. There a few key things to keep it fun, first don't get to hung up on winning do it for the love of it, and pick a good organization. I know I love NESPL, I've been to independant comps and some have been very fun, but NESPL events are by far the best time. It def. adds to the fun for me.to have a great league to built for specifically and has a large group of really cool people.

Waterford CT, 9/27...tomorrow
You'd probly be better off coming late as its supposed to stop raining around noon. So far this show is on and sounds like it will be but if you do decide to go feel free to give me a buzz 1st to be sure. Pretty sure you have my number but I'll PM it to you just in case. Hope to so you there.

Waterford CT, 9/27...tomorrow
I might be able to guess a few of them :-) Can't wait for this event, most of my club has built for this event in particular. Thats sweet timing to have Mark in town for this, looking forward to meeting you, if it weren't CT. on a Sunday I'd say I'd by ya a beer, but they got them weird laws down there so guess thats out. I'll be the real tall skinny guy who acts like he's drank a gallon of redbull (I get too amped for events still lol).

Best Processor Out
Maybe I can help, his head unit has VERY low voltage rca out put, so I suggested to him he get a processor to help increase the voltage to his amps so he can keep his gains low. As it is he has to have his gains high to make up for the low input voltage. I know he could get a new HU to fix this but he spent alot on a touch screen HU and I dont think he wants to get rid of it if he can help it. Did I give him bad advice?

Battery or Cap
If for some reason you decide to NOT follow the advice in this thread, your going to need this link soon www.db-r.com He does great work repairing amps, and I assure you running a 4 kilowatt amp off of a cap instead of batteries your voltage drops will cause death to your amp, sooner or later I promise.

4 guage for 1150 watts?
so true, for ladies enjoyment, think of your amps as women. How big is your alt? For an example I had 1300 watts rms clamped, and had huge headlight dim before I did the big 3 in 1/0, and added a battery. I am talking epic headlight dim here, they practically turned off on bass notes. Now (with a power run, big 3, all grounds in 1/0) zero headlight dim on full tilt no matter what. Just remember you get out of it what you put into it.** ** edit: Just like with women

Guide to getting LouD with a wall tips
To requalify my post as I mentioned I haven't used it yet, but I wanted some signal processing and am able to get it from SS for next to nothing so I odered it up. I was reading the manual and it suggested that you delay the signal to the closest subs to the mic to make the sound waves hit the mic at the same time. Don't know honestly if this is will do much but I'm gonna find out with some testing. I mentioned it cuz I saw this post pop up and fig. you might have heard of them. It seems to me that you'd have to have an amp for each sub and not have your subs in a common chamber to optimise this effect. I just figured it was worth a checkout for ya as its something claiming to help walls that are already built as your is, I'll know a little more after getting in my hands in a day or two. Here's the link to its manual if you want to check it out or just for more info: http://www.soundstream.com/manuals/2009/XBP-10.pdf
