Everyone says you can hear it, but I don't get how I can hear it? What does it sound like?

Alright I got it out. CD Player doesn't like pull in the CD's like before. Does that mean its broken?

No! the cd player still WORKS but it doens't recognize the CD. I'll check my fuzebox but yeah i tried pinching with knifes and it wouldnt come. My friends dad who owns a ford dealership says its broken then, and he'll have to send it in for repair and that would cost 100$. I was like no way ill just buy a new headunit. IDK I really want to get this fixed because I have no funds to buy a new headunit lol....

Alright well I added an amp to my car for testing. I unplugged the battery and had to plug it back in and when I tried to start it, it had troubles starting because of the disconnectoin of the battery. So When I went to start it I also tried to put a cd in. The cd was just sitting half way in so while I tried to start it again and just pushed the cd in. The cd player will not read it, and it cannot eject it becuase it doesn't see it as it's in there. It is a 2002 ford explorer, and it is the regular (not 6 disc) cd changer. I read to either grab it with plyers (can't find needle nose small enough) or take it out. I don't know how to take it out either so can someone help!

make a custom built ported and I'm sure it will smoke ur friends 10...

Has anyone here heard of it or used it? It seems a bit old but IDC much about that. As long as it works. What do you guys think of it? does it put out near rated power? Don't these have a lot of current draw, and are power hungry? LMK because I think I just found a HECK of a deal on this amp... Powering a Fi BTL, wired at 1 ohm but will most likely have the gain alll the way down. looks a little different than the 5082 I've seen... He called it the 582hx, no google searches came up...

Compared to my friends 2 12" mtx 9500's on 2200rms in a ported box in a Rover, this is almost as loud, maybe AS loud.... on half the power He also has an extra batt and 0 guage sooooo take that into consideration. NOT a fan of mtx, but a fan of Rovers These subs are so sick. I hope to get 2x 15s when i'm done with this first system if you do it right it will be soooooooooo loud....

thanks man. Even If I decide to go low power(I'm not going to), it will still be louder than most systems around here because of the box and sub choice.

I don't have vids, as I just hooked it up tonight. Wow, I played it today for about an hour on chitty 4 guage (old install), no batteries, and a h.o alt. It was also on a Hifonics 1200 rms amp (friends amp, I needed to hear it). It probably wasn't pushing that much but WOW it is so damn loud...... My ears were hurting and I've heard systems with way more power not be as loud as this. Everything rattled to hell, and it was moving a decent amount of air. Overall I'm VERY impressed with this sub, I couldn't be happier. I am SOOOO glad I went with it. I think I'm in love. I'll get some vids this weekend if I borrow my friends amp again. Sub is a 10/10 in EVERYTHING in my books

bump, is the reason the amp went into protect because the negative and positive speaker wires might have been touching? or could it be that the sub is damaged?

oh no no. It is connected to screws going through the back of hte box.

what do you mean chaffed from rubbing on the basket? its technically a dual 1.4 ohm (fi btl 18") so thats what it read.. I belive it's correct..

I got it out of the enclosure, I just wasn't sure because I couldn't get my hands around it or a screw driver to get it out, so I was just asking. And IDK, the + and - might have been touching inside of the box after I tightened it, So I'm going to drill another hole and move it over.

I have it hooked up, well I took it out of the car. I tried it on 2 different amps, one I KNOW is working at 1 ohm (hifonics 1200d) and my sub woudln't play. The Hifonics would immediately go into protect mode when the music started to hit the bass. The DMM says .7 ohm, maybe something is messed up. Here is how I have it wired: (it was originally this) But now come to think of it, I might have mixed it up, with the 1st postive and 2nd negative connecting to the positive output on the box. and then the 1st negative and 2nd positive connecting to the negative output on the box. I Don't know if thats what I did, but would either of the ways those were wired, do that to the amp? I wouldn't think the first one would, would it? Also, how would I take the sub out of my box? what is the best and easiest way to do it? It is flush mount so it's pretty tight. What way do you guys do it...?

llol I saw this sub, and it would be so funny to show up to school with it, and people would laugh until they hear it and be like wtf thats 10x louder than mine! thats a tight sub for sure, nice work

it was to the terminal where it sparked... and yeah I know i should have done that but I wasn't thinking when I was about to do it. My friend was like okay okay okay hook it up lets go!!! It worked for a little, still lit up after it sparked, but now it stopped lighting up, so i didn't think it would be the problem.

bump... Amp is getting 14.6 volts when cars on....

Triple post sry Also, the remote wire only read about 2-3 volts....
