  1. Yep, completely backwards.
  2. It's seeing an infinite impedance when there is no load...
  3. Umm... there will be a signal with no load on every single amp. When the Class D amplifiers first started to become mainstream, there may have been issues with the feedback circuitry burning up with no load... but I do not see that as an issue now.
  4. Got a promotion! Yes!
  5. Hopefully I will be able to eat something today... this flu is kicking my ass.
  6. dopey = dopey Anyone else get a headache whenever he posts?
  7. DIYMA = ECA with a different name.
  8. Only when you can't get the interior panels back on
  9. WTF x1,00000000000000000000000000000000000000
  10. 1. I used .1 when I built my enclosure. 2. 1/2" 3. anything bigger than 18ga. 4. ya, the connector on the subwoofer 5. complete myth
  11. It is voltage drop...
  12. 50% efficiency is in reference to the amp. My rule is... run the biggest wire the amplifier will accept. So, for the PDXs... I run 4ga., even though they are all Class D, and are over 85% efficient. You can run 18ga. speaker cable, and it will be sufficient.... because there is not much current there. Ground length is completely arbitrary... as long as it has very close to 0 ohms, then it doesn't matter... you have to have a 4ga. wire like 350ft. long to get over 1 ohm of resistance. It just has to be able to carry as much current as the amplifier sources... since it completes the electrical circuit.
  13. Shitty pics... but they will do for now Bought 2lbs of polyfill, need some gasket tape, sell this XT2000d & get more 4 ohm power, and cover this thing... Thoughts on what I should use to cover? I was thinking charcoal coloured micro fibre.
  14. doesn't exist.
  15. Parallel.
  16. @ what impedance? Assuming 1 ohm SSA Icon 12" SS RL-p 12" Fi BL/Q 12" SI BM 12" All would sound good in a 2.0-2.2ft^3 tuned to ~30Hz enclosure
  17. How much room to play with here? W/H/D please.
  18. I had a chicken souvlaki sandwich & garden salad.
  19. LOL
  20. Mach5's recommendations on the website are bang on, use those.
  21. New enclosure & rack are in... but too late for pics. Back to work tomorrow
  22. I can't think of one sub that can play well in as little as 1.1ft^3 & ported... sealed yes, ported, no. Now, single sub in 2.2? Sure.
  23. Not for me... for my little bro's truck. The SPX crossover I was using it in took a dump.. I do have extras, but I'd rather go active since I am using the Mach5 6.5" in it anyways.
  24. Enclosure glassed & ready for the back to be put on it... Inside: 4-5 layers of matt layer of bondo-glass mixed with resin & applied with a paint brush. Coated in 2 layers of rubber undercoating. Outside 2 applications of bondo mixed with resin & applied with a paint brush Sand, sand, sand, sand. Good thing I'm covering, not painting... because I don't like sanding When I get back to my place (at my parents' right now) tonight, I'm going to be installing the back of the enclosure, more pics forthcoming.
