  1. The comparison was for sound quality only. No one can deny that the SMD is a hell of sub. Carautomag.com called the SMD a SQ sub yet I haven't heard any owner of the sub comment on the SQ and carautoauto.com gave it less that perfect score. Carautomag.com should review the Xcon 18!!
  2. If you're talking about the smd, then the qound quality at high volume is better then at low volume..( it has more L"kick" to it.) : Sorry I was talking about the Xcon
  3. So at low volume on the Head Unit does the Xcon have great sound quality and is just as clean and accurate at high volume?
  4. I recently read a review for the AA SMD 18 and they identified the sub as a SQ sub. With that being said below are the results of the testing.. Score Chart Musical score: 7 of 10 Overall Sound Quality: 8 of 10 Tonal Balance: 7 of 10 Low Frequency Extension: 7.5 of 10 Clarity at Low Volume: 6.5 of 10 Clarity at High Volume: 8.5 of 10 Impact: 9 of 10 when testing they said the sub did not perform well (in terms of sound quality) at low volume. How does the Xcon 18 sound at low and high volume?
  5. This is exactly what I was looking for. The N2 is what I will get. I wanted to make sure it sounded great or (musically accurate) when playing music; this is perfect. THANKS!!!
  6. Thanks!
  7. I know what I'm going to use for an enclosure, my question was in regards to which sub would fit me better the N2 or the N1. I was looking for something musically accurate that handles 2000-2500 watts. Nick and J Frank have answered that question. The N2 will give the sound quality I'm looking for. Thank you guys for your input.
  8. Thank you!

The link for the BTL N1 doesn't work. I was wondering where I could find out more info and the prices for this sub.
  10. How does the BTL N218 sound? I would like for it to be musically accurate yet handle the 2000-2500 watts. I never had an opportunity to hear a 2 gen BTL. Is there a possibility that with the right enclosure it can be musically accurate? Thanks again
  11. I really like the BTL's but I'm torn between the N1 and the N2. I need a 18 that sounds great and handles 2000-2500 watts daily. The N2 may work but I don't know what the sound quality is like for that sub. Any help from a BTL veteren would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  12. I understand. My problem is that I have a 7000 watt amp and I wanted to get everything out of it and do it with 3 subs.
  13. Ok. Is it safe to say the sub can handle around 2300 watts on a daily setup?
  14. What is the max wattage a 18 xcon can take and play daily? There is a YouTube clip of 2-18's running on 2 sundown 3000's strapped ( around 7000 watts) it sounds incredible !!
